EEEK!

1 sleep before I hit Sydney!

I'm having a celebratory mimosa, and G is going to make me nachos for dinner.

I'm going to try and have an early night, as I-we; G is driving me to the airport-have to be up at 4am.

4 AM!

It's just not cricket, but that's how it is when you get a bargainacious flight.

We start daylight saving over the weekend whilst I'm away.

It always makes me sad, cos it's the real death-nell for Summer......

I don't mind Autumn, but Winter.....ugh.

Can't change it, so I'm just gonna have to embrace it and funk me up some Winter wear!!

Sounds like chandeliers are expensive everywhere...poo....I can still fantasize about a sweet little Helga style chandelier, waiting for me to find it.....at a very special price!

Afternoon Sparkle

I've been doing some visiting, and I've got to have a little dinner before we go to band practice!

I just love these 2 chandeliers, the bottom one being the particular one I dream of having in our lounge one day. Chandeliers are fecking expensive around these parts, and it's hard to find one we like, let alone one we can afford. It popped into my head that I may get unbelieveably lucky and find one in Sydney.....or not!!

Predominate Blue

We went to friends Darryl & Ira's daughter Spohies 15th birthday party yester evening, and then went on to a cousin's 19th birthday party. It was a bloody good evening, and I managed my sober driver task very well indeed! I'm posing next to Ira, below.

I had somehow missed that it was a crazy hat theme, but managed to hit the nail on the head, with my Queenie tribute hat!

I got a bit adventurous with my makeup, wearing some yellow Barry M shimmer powder that darling Vix sent me a while back and blue eyeshadow that turned green when I applied it over the top of the yellow.

We've been watching "Kick Ass" whilst G had a roast going.

"Kick Ass" was awesome!!!

It's a rainy Autumn Sunday evening here; after dinner I will probably snuggle into bed with a book. That's pretty much what I like to do best on a Sunday.

Fecking with my Fringe

We've had the most perfect Autumn sunshine today.

Ideal for this frock, which I wear quite a lot.

I found this last year, and stupidly left it behind. (I know)

Luckily for me, it was still there 1 week later, so I snapped it up, and it is a firm favourite.

Today I'm wearing it with:

Sweetheart Nicole gave me this ring/bracelet combination thingy last night. I confess that it was what inspired my hippyish outfit today. She also gave me the bronzey bracelet on my left wrist. The pendant is made of bass strings and metal. It was made by a woman named Violet, who nowadays runs a vintage boutique in Dunedin. I bought this off her 19 years ago, when we were both living in the same squat (briefly, for G and I) in Pekham, London.

I've been out and about a bit this morning, to get some groceries and a zip for G's pants that I am in the throes of. Due to earthquake damaged roads, it took me much longer than I expected. Later this afternoon we are going to a bbq, and then to a cousin's 19th birthday. I have volunteered to drive, and we will be taking Cousin Phil along with us.

WTF am I going to wear?!

Last night I wore this heavily revamped frock that I bought for $2 a couple of years ago. It was midi length, with a boring round neck. So I turned it into an empire line, took it up, and used the excess to make binding for a new neckline. It's much better and far more wearable!

G henna'd my hair for me yeasterday, so I put some on my new fringe as well.

I feel quite terribly glamourous.

The dark, dark lipstick is one I bought duty free way back in my Goth days. It's almost black, and I use a blue eyeliner to line my lips when I wear it!

Someone asked about the red lipstick I was wearing the other night-it's an Avon one, the colour is called Strawberry Delish, I think. I love red lipstick, and need a new one. I might have a look at duty free when I go to Sydney on Thursday, ( EEEK! 5 sleeps! ) or just shop for one whilst I'm there.

O, I've not had much of a chance to go throught the box of fabric I was given, yet. Tomorrow!

I do hope I find some goodies in there!

I once knew a donkey named Danny

I really did!

It was when we lived in rural NSW, Australia. He had the most enormous dong, that reached the ground, and the sight of it would make my Mother laugh hysterically!

Anyway.

Being Friday, I scooted off for a bit of opshopping after work. I was hoping to match Vix's recent successes, and didn't do tooo badly.

This hilarious 80's lace frock was $5.

I think anyone could see the potential for $5!!!

I feel in my waters that it will end up dyed and far away from it's current self....

I also got:

A pair of vintage boots. I initially thought they were 70's, but upon trying them on, realise they are 60's!

Plus a couple of tartan mugs (a lot of ours were broken in the quake) and some kitcheny bits.

I'm really quite excited by the pattern. It has a collar!!! And a scarfy thingy!!!

O, about the donkey song.

I'm sorry darlings, but I actually don't even recall singing the song, much less the lyrics.

G just said that I was wailing away at the top of my voice, and there were a few ooo's and donkey dongs were mentioned.

Ahem.

It's Friday night!

I have a head covered in henna right now, and Snuffbox will be practising tonight.

The drummer's darling wife, Niclole (we went to their wedding not long ago) is coming over too and we are going to have a bbq and then she and I will watch a movie or something girly whilst the boys bang away.

Rockin' Rangoon on a Wednesday Night

We went out to Rangoon last night to take Justine out for dinner, as she is going a little barmy out there in the wop wops.

(Rangoon is known as Rangiora in the local vernacular, btw)
G obliged me by taking a couple of pics on the way out.

There aren't a lot of choices, as far as restaurants go.

We went to the only Thai restaurant. It was ok.

I do like a BYO restaurant, though.

The pinot noir we took went straight to my head.

We ended up at a bar, all decked out Wild West style.

Um, I think there were 2 other people in there, playing the pokies.

There was asome good music, amazingly, and a bison head on the wall.

G felt that it needed glowing eyes and steam coming out of its nostrils.

I should have taken a pic, but by that time things were a little blurry, and apparently I loudly treated downtown Rangoon to a song about a donkey.

I feel fine today!

Handwriting !

The deliciously beautiful Christina took part in a handwriting chanllenge, and as I am really nosy, and was tickled to see her handwriting, I thought I'd do the same!

The deal is:

My handwriting changes a lot, depending on what type of pen I'm using, how tired I am, whether I'm printing or writing, or whatever.....generally, it is pretty neat. Generally! Unless I'm excited!

That happens a lot.

I really do throw out stupid sentences from time to time, mostly when I'm grumpy, or I think people are full of shit. "Big dogs cocks" is a favourite. I also like to bleat.

I imagine it's a kind of willful Tourette's Syndrome.

Occasionally I'll follow up with lurid actions. I don't feel the need to demonstrate these right now, however.

In the soft Autumnal rain...

Hopefully everyone has checked out the list by now.

Hopefully that little linky to it works, I don't always have success when trying to link to something within my own blog!

I was given a huge box of fabric today. A gentlemen at work (and he really is) has been clearing crap from his garage and all over his house, and has stuff left by his ex-wife, such as fabric, to offload. So he brought it in today, and as it was raining, we had our car, so there is a box of fabric for me to go through sitting in the foyer. I'll look at it after dinner.

I have to say, I'm really enjoying sewing at the moment, which is nice. So I've been doing little bits here and there, and getting more than a bit accomplished. Of course, not everything I would like; I have about 5 frocks still in need of altering, plus 4 frocks I really, really want to make and wear now. Not to mention the pair of pants I have started for G, and the pair I really want to make him for winter.

Amongst other things. I'm very good at overloading myself and sometimes setting ridiculous goals!

We watched a couple of movies, "A Single Man", with the divine Colin, which was wonderful, and "Coffee and Cigarettes", which was not really my thing.

Julianne Moore looked amazing in "A Single Man", her eyemakeup was superb. The set and costume design was weepingly good also. And Colin!!! EEEK! I want to do dastardly things with him....oooer.

He is freakin' HOT!

Sigh.

Lucky I have G, really. He too is HOT!

It's made from recycled jeans, opshopped at different times.
Plus a dark piece of new denim, left over from a project.
