And so it comes around again, just the way I like it!
I'm thrilling y'all with the most glorious red frock that the uber fabularsehole Sarah gave me!
I have been looking for the perfect plain red frock for ever, and have been far too lazy to make one, despite having a pile of red fabric tucked away under my sewing table!
And the darling went and presented me with this pearler when we arrived!
Squee!
I got more compliments today than I've had hot dinners, I swear!
I'm wearing it with:
Tights- the Goddess Vix
Belt-opshopped in Australia!
Shoes-retail
Hairflower-made by my friend Claire
Orange beads-the sexacious Desiree
60's necklace-opshopped
Earrings-marvelarsehole Sue
60's handbag-gift from Justine
Now, I was rather inspired by Vix's post today about her opshop finds, and considering I haven't been opshopping since I was in Australia last week-like, forever-I figured I had best pop into a local oppie and see what I could find....
And I found a few goodies!
A tan knitting bag, that I will use as a bag...or maybe put my crochet shit in...
A skirt that will be cut up for a project, possibly
2 doilies, to be used for sewing projects...someday...
A pink and white spotty frock (70's) and an early 80's silver frock
And a pretty 60's floral mirror, which G loathes with a passion!
In fact, his words were:
"That's awful. It would look better if you nailed my cock to a cross and put a picture of it in that mirrored frame. A bleeding cocksifixion. That would look better"
I kid you not.
How rude!
Who wants it, then?!
First in, first served!
And this is a late 50's two piece I bought at Sarah's favourite vintage shop!!
We have two weddings next month, and I reckon this will be perfect for the first one, a splendid Mother of the Bride look if ever there was one!
The sun is finally out with a vengeance here, and tonight we are going to go and see Permanence, a local Joy Division covers band.
I suspect I'm going to wear that silver frock I found today.....

Wowza... orange is definitely your colour! Great finds too.
I WANT IT!! That mirror is seriously the coolest I've seen for a while. I think it's even more pretty than a coxifixion mirror.
What do ya want for it? (the mirror, not the cock) x
Mother of the bride?? I was thinking Camilla Parker Bowle!! No really you will look splendidly gorgeous in it, but I will want photos!!!! Red is such a sexy colour on a young lady!!! And you just look like a sex siren in RED!!! As for G, I bloody dare him!!!
Who want's what! Not sure I need a Cocksifixion, but then I wouldn't know unless I tried one first! Let me get me head around that first! ;-D
Ooohhh... those tights, those necklaces.
I think your other half should take a long, hard look at my manky flower wall, where that gorgeous '60s floral mirror would feel right at home. It's HOT!
You will be a smashing mother of the bride and G. does have a way with words.
I think you'll look gorgeous in that 2 piece, cos you look fab in anything!
You look lush! and I am loving the pearlescent mother of the bride ensemble! You find the most amazing things I don't understand where you put all your clothes and accessories??!xx
AHAHA you should have heard me trying to explain cocksifixion to my friend John!
Oiii G! Insulting my taste! My eye was actually drawn straight to that mirror, I'll take it if he's banished it from the home! It'll fit right in with the whimsy in my abode.
You look gorgeous! That colour is so you!
Looking hot in the dress - love the colour. You did well at the op shop, totally want a knitting bag which i too would use as a bag (lack of knitting in my home) Scarlett x
Yes that is a perfect RED Frock!!!
As for G he would have a not so perfect RED C...!!!!!! Eeeeekkk!!!!
Love love the gorgeous outfit for the wedding, you are going to look so very pretty in that ensemble!!!!

Must admit, I'm with G on the mirror thing...so I won't be putting my hand up for it, LOL!!
Reckon you must have more dresses than I have stock by now, woo hoo!
I'm loving the colours in that hair flower and I'm not surprised you got so many compliments ont hat red dress, it's awesome and suits you SOOO well...almost as well as black, ha ha ha!!!
Ooh the dress is lovely but I ADORE those shoes! Want! And the bag is lovely too :)
Ignore G - that mirror is the tits. And that minty blue dress and jacket combo is, I can't think of any words worth enough so this osunds ought to cover it:
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
ahem... the pink dress is also rather delicious
what a terribly typed comment. you get the jist I'm sure xxx
Love it all!
We have been having similar conversations about home decor recently. His Lordship has bought a silk print of the panorama from Skyrim and wants to frame it. I say no. I have a creepy picture of some elves and frogs. He says 'creepy'. We might have to decorate the spare room just to put them there and scare the hell out of visitors.
Oh i have to admit i love the mirror!
An your frock and tights are fabulous! :)
You really don't want me to sing Lady in Red to you, do you? You DO? "Never seen you looking so lovely..." I'll stop it now.
That is indeed the perfect red frock. Spooky coincidence of the day - I have just bought a red maxi off Ebay which has arrived this instant, woo hoo!
Liking the look of your op shop purchases. Not quite sure about the mirror... G may have a point... Sorry!
Ooh, that 50s 2 piece looks very classy, is it silk? Would love a close up of the beadwork.
Enjoy the band tonight - Love will NEVER tear us apart, my darling! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh that dress is just fabulous, Sarah chose brilliantly! I love the sleeves and I can't believe those tights are still looking so good!!!
Hoorah for op-shopping. I must say I'm veering towards G's side with that mirror, it's the kind of thing I'd grab at a jumble and donate back to the Sally army a day later. Everything else looks thrilling!!
LOVE You!

Oh my god. I'm nearly crying over G.'s comment on your mirror. That was wonderful.
Helga, that dress is so fabulous. You look wonderful in it. I love the juicy colours and hair funnery you paired it with too.
Sarah knows what will fit you like a dream for sure. This dress is beautiful! Perfect length, color and I am in love with the sleeves, you look HOT!!! The cocksifixion comment from G is the funniest thing I have heard in a while, tell him he made my Friday, brutal honesty the world needs more of that. I love the dress you scored for the wedding, it's elegant and will look killer on you!
LOVEYA~
Krista

Hahaha, loved G's comment about the mirror! A great haul otherwise :) Can't wait to see photos of you in your new frocks! Ohh, I love weddings! I work at a reception centre so I get to gawk at outfits on a weekly basis. Last night was a maori wedding and they did the haka! Which probably isn't as exciting for you as it was for me, haha :) Xxxxxx Love to you 'elga!
Hope you had a fabu Valentine's! You looked scumptious as usual! Where did you dig up that pic of Sean Connery? My hub was terribly disappointed to see him in girlie boots - great fun!
