Friend and bandmate Nix spotted this cape when she was out opshopping a while back, and ummed and ahhed about whether or not I would like it.
She wasn't sure enough to buy it, but told me about it, and I went to check it out.
I wasn't sure about it either!
The shade of green seemed a bit dull and murky for my liking, and the deep brown trim and buttons weren't quite my cup of tea.
So I put it back, and walked around for a bit, and found I couldn't leave it behind!
It's pure wool, it's snuggly and beautifully shaped, and it's growing on me.
Not unlike some sort of mouldy infestation.
Besides, capes make me feel fabularsehole and superheroiney!!
Yesterday I deemed it ideal to wear to see the new Tim Burton film, "Dark Shadows"
Ah, the costuming!! Exquisite!
The sets were splendid!
We rather enjoyed it.

DAaaarling! I'm SOOO glad you went back for the EXQUISITE CAPE! It looks divine on you and even murky green and brown cannot stay murky for long in your glorious presence!
And HELLO - I'm wearing my matching yellow tights today! Nothing says SEXY like jaundiced legs, I say.
Love you more than capes and Wonderwoman! Sarah xxx
That cape does look superheroish, I'm glad you bought it in the end!
You do have a way with colour that dress and cape look ace with those awesome mustard tights. Whats your secret power caped helga-woman?
Some of the pieces I've picked up that I wasn't sure about have become favourites! It's a glorious cape I'm glad you didn't leave it behind. xx

What a fabulous cape. I know that feeling of leaving somthing behind and then realising you can't actually live without it. The mustard tights and finger bling (wait, does that sound rude??) finish the look perfectly. Loving the streaker pose! xxx
You look ready to swoop in and solve fashion emergencies, armed with a G&T! Or several G&Ts. I do like your stockings & strappy sandals combo!
I wouldn't have left that cape behind either, it's definitely fabulous, even more so with you in it!!

I wouldn't have the heart to leave any cape behind. Just because capes are so hard for me to come by in thrift stores. This one is a gem. I don't find it boring at all. I don't think you could put anything on and it would look drab. You are too fab for that.
I love it you look fab, dee xx
I'm glad you got it...no one rocks a cape quite like yerself!xxxxxxx
Oh I am pleased you got the cape, it doesn't look in the least murky, it's wonderful! But maybe that is the Superpower of Helga the Magnificent, transforming murk and dullness into fabulosity!
You can flash me anytime, you gorgeous woman! Love the mustard tights and all the blingy bling. xxxxx
Was your mum as devine as you??? So going to see that movie, even TOF wants to go!! Nothing quite like being flashed by a woman in a cape!!
Good move going back for the cape - it fits beautifully! You look gorgeous - I love the whole outfit! If only I could pop over and hang out with you!!
Murk? What murk? I freaking love that divinely snuggly superheroine cape and it would have been a crime against op-shopping not to have bought it.
Your legs look even more fabulouarse than usual in those mustard tights, could G concentrate on the film? I don't think I could have done.
Love YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're really good at pulling together your outfits and making them perfectly balanced. Your friends must think it's really fun to have a friend that's so easy to buy for with your distinct style! When I see certain things in vintage shops now I always recall your name in my head. haha It's like a chant all over the world!
I'm so glad you went back for the cape! You look amazing in it! The mustard tights, the bag .... And the paisley frock are devine.
I love that era of cape- 1960's, all plaid and wooley so I am soooo glad you got it. I wouldn't have been able to leave the store without it, no sirrrreee!
Paisley, as in the dress, I think I want to see/wear more for summer, and fall. What a classic print, endlessly glorious! Like you!

Am I being dense again? Or is my monitor turned up too high? It's so far from being murky! And the trim looks purpley on my screen - love it!

That cape is freaking fantastic. I keep searching for one but so far no luck. One day!
I see no murk either - it looks terrific on you! But y'know, if you ever get bored of it, send it my way ;-)

CAPE FLASHER ALERT!
Holy Caped Crusader - that is fantastic!
The cape truly is very smart and you look gorgeous, as ever. Checking out your blog always cheers me up. Ta!
the cape is reversible?! You could be one superheroine with one side and another superheroine with the other!

That cape was 'dull and murky' but you change it in pure wonder!
Those colors together are amazing and the tights revitalize the whole outfit!

Looooooove. You are totally my super-heroine in that amazing cape. If you have to have a mouldy infestation, it might as well be a fabulous one, right?
I'm glad you didn't leave this cutie-cape behind, it is awesome!! I hate that feeling when I see something in the shops I am not sure about but I kind of like, I always regret not buying it afterwards.
