Why don't we do it in the road?

I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but I do quite like The White Album and Sergeant Pepper's....not even sure if "Why don't we do it in the road?" is even on either album!
It's a song that makes me giggle, and I like how it shows dear sanctified Paul as somewhat human and even a little raunchy.
Jaysus, I loathed Wings.
Did anybody like Wings?!
"Mull of Kintyre" is the most hideous droney groany song, and G and I imagine old biddies out the back in boiled cabbage and urine scented opshops doing obscene things with carrots to the tune of it.

I'm doing it in the road as our road is closed for works, again.
The infrastructure repairs, despite it being nearly two years since the quake, continue.
To be fair, it's a huge job, and it's fascinating to see what is under the road.
It will be very exciting when we have perfectly flat, pothole and bump free roads!

It's good to see the rebuilt in action - although I imagine it would be pretty tedious for folks in Chch, but I bet its good that stuff is happening. Lovely frock Helga and I rather like to bloomers. I'm going to do a course for making "French Knickers" later this year, they remind me of your safety pants and shall be perfect for windy Wellington days!

I start to get tired of hearing Beatles songs every now and again - too ubiquitous. But Why Don't we do it in the Road is a permanent on my iPod because it seems so unusual for them. Wings, agree. But would you think less of me for a secret like of Silly Love Songs. I feel dirty even saying it. You look amazing! I live red and lighter blues. It makes the blue so sky-shiny.

Like you my darling, I adore SOME Beatles and don't like some... and the Wings, well, we know what wings are best on... And Alice Cooper sang best about THAT... but oh dear I digress! I'm very easily distracted!

You are fucking magnificence in this splendidness - the stockings and safety pants combination makes me lez. The hat is stunning and YOU, my darling, make me want to do YOU in the road. Repeatedly. Have we seen that lovely frock before?

Love you more than porn! Sarah xxx

Hear, hear! The most overrated band in the world. Wings were crap and Paul McCartney has a face I'd love to slap.
You, on the other hand are gorgeous, bloomers? Eeek! Long time no see.
I love the red, white and blue trademark Helga-esque handbag, those blue earrings and those shoes!!!
Go on, get drunk and nick some of those cones, dare you!
Love you! xxxxx

I much prefer the Stones to the Beatles, but it's the cause of constant debate in this house as hubby prefers the Beatles. They wheel Maccer out for every event here though when I'd much sooner see Jagger or Bowie. What a stylish wee handbag and a lovely pretty ensemble. When you flash your bloomers reminds me of Mrs. Slocombe when she fell over and had Union flag bloomers on in the film, lol. Xx

Helga, I don't comment nearly enough, but I would like you to know how cheery your wee blog is.
Thanks for loving frocks, loading up the jewellery, colouring in your pins with tights and mostly not wanking on.
Keep on taking photos of what you wear and being your self.
I want to be more like you.

Love !!!!! Why don't we do it in the road is in the White Album, my favorite and the only one that featured a horny Paul, he wrote the song after seeing two monkeys copulating in the street in India (found on wikipedia) and this song usually makes me very happy, so there's nothing better to start my day than an obscene Sir Paul! But I hate the Wings, I've got few original records, but never listened to them, my mom is a great McCartney fan!
The dress and the hat are awesome and the idea of doing it in the road is brilliant, it reminds me of another famous Beatles album cover! Anyway you are more famous than them!
I hope all the works would end soon, I understand how uncomfortable and annoying could be!
Lots of love xxxxx

OMFG, I just spat coffee all over my keyboard and screen after reading your imaginings over "Mull of Kintyre"...I will forever have that picture in my mind now when that song comes on, oh dear!
You look magnificent in today's get-up, the hat is glorious!
N'ah, I was never a Wings fan, dad had all the albums but he got to keep them to himself.
I did steal his Beatles vinyl box set though.
Lot's of love,
Jennie...xXx

Helga darling, I think sometimes I should wait until I'm fully caffienated to read your posts. I will not never get that visual of the Mull of Kintyre old ladies out of my head for the rest of the day... must read about zombies, maybe that will work! However, you m'dear never fail to bring a smile to my face! Love the bloomers & your riot of colour! Keep making us all smile! XXX

you look amazeballs, as always. I do love having your cheeriness pop up on my fb page! Also, I totally agree with you about The Beatles, when ever I've said such a thing out loud it's inevitably been met with frowns & gasps! x

My man and I were just talking last night over happy hour how we appreciate more the later works of the Beatles, particularly the White Album. We laughed because we thought their music got better when they started taking drugs. Or at least when John did. Funny to come here this morning and have you mention the very same thing!
Nice to see your little dance before the tar is ripped up again!

Not a huge Beatles fan either but I love this song and Happiness is a warm gun is another favorite and we all know the White album was their best:). This frock is sweet Helga and I don't recall ever seeing it before. Your bloomer flash well that's just so you- I love it!

As a fan of The Stones, I only enjoyed the more trippy Beatles songs. And for Wings, no thank you. After all the tear up, here's to having a nice new street, the better to ride your bikes on. I love the last photo, you look like the prettiest traffic cop in the world.

Mariela said...

LOVE the red stockings! You look very relaxed standing in the road.

Our main highway gets a face lift every year. It's pretty much the only highway that goes through Northern Nevada so they need to maintain it well.

I adore the Beatles, they saved me from being bullied at school, however, Wings, no. Plus Paul my favourite too! But still no.

Bloomers! Ha! How blooming fantastic!! And you've got your hair out :)

The music teacher at school used to wear bloomers - red ones, which we used to get regular glimpses of when she played the piano at assembly. I think you would have admired her style. She sported some pretty amazing glasses.

Did you wear that outfit to work? I bet your colleagues come into your office just to get a glimpse of you don't they? xxx

You look beautiful! I love all your rings! The photo with bloomers are so cute and flirty:)! Kisses x x x

Is not very surprising that you’re not a big fan of the Beatles and Wings. Their music is the kind of music that most people can relate to. Not irritating, but the music don’t attracts the big emotions and you feel like ... much more than that. By the way, you should be a well-paid traffic cop!

OMG OMG OMG (in a totally in-crush- with-you squeal), I've been reading your blog for AGES and am halfway in love with you (not even slightly stalker-ish but I want to be you way) and you actually commented on my blog post today (goes off to do an excited jiggle). PHEW! I looked and looked for an email id for you, so I wouldn't have to write an essay here but couldn't find one. Your comment made my week! (Trust me I was pretty miserable last night and this morning and for me to be this happy right now is a great compliment to you.) Okay I will stop now before anyone thinks of calling people to take me to the loony bin.
Love the post, the bloomers, the shoes but sucks that things are still not back to normal after the earth-quake...You look lovely Helga x

Ok, I'm game - let's do it in the road, darling! You look good enough to do anything with anyone, flashing your thighs and bloomers like the Trollop you are!
What a fabularse frock, and bag, and those shoes are wonderful.
I don't mind the Beatles. Not so fussed on Wings, though you have to like Live and Let Die! Poor old Paul of the burgundy hair - he'd be gutted to know you don't want to do it with him anywhere, not even in the long and winding road.
Love you SO much more than the mists rolling in from the sea (are you seeing th op shop old dears and their carrots now?) xxxxxxxxx

Eeeee, I love this combo! I desperately need to find some vibrant red tights like yours!

I was going to say here I am doing my weekend catch up again Helga, when I realised it's Monday, what happened to the weekend! Your description of old biddies and carrots reminded me of when my hubby and his brother started calling me and his brother's partner Agnes and Morag. It didn't last long because I went seriously off my head. Maybe I overreacted but to me it was like they were trying to turn us into two old biddies and I didn't like it. I guess I should have just started calling them Beavis and Butthead or something like that. xx
