Shoe Porn, you say!? How about Costume Porn?!

All those platforms yesterday made me want to watch one of my favourite films,Velvet Goldmine, again.Porntastic quality costumes!!!!OMG,I love them!Mega inspirational.Sandy Powell is the most fantastic costume designer.
Of course, having Jonathan Rhys-Myers in them helps!!I'm not a huge fan of him,but he is rather marvellous in this film.

I adore the street scene outfits.Just think of all those little glam rockers running around looking divine!Oh!I would have liked to be one of them!

I couldn't find any good pics of the womens costumes, dammit.Toni Collette had some fantastic numbers.

Fecking love this!!G would looking quite fetching prancing around in this outfit. He prances ever so well..
I would like to say that I don't find Ewan McGregor attractive, but I do love how very willing he is to get out his rather splendid wang at every opportunity.I've lost count of how many times I've seen his wang in a film!I love his performance in Velvet Goldmine, the best bit being when he drops his trousers onstage and waggles his wang about.Fantastic!
Actually,on the subject of wangs in film, there's a great wang at half mast in Angels & Insects.(Awesome film, that)Not meaning to digress at all, just thought I'd mention it.I always note wangs on display in films,as it isn't all that common, unless it's porn.
Anyway,I shall scan some more pics out of that Platform book next week.My mission this weekend is to show you how I do my hair and makeup. It's been a while coming.I'm sure it'll be good for a laugh.I've had a few requests, and have been meaning to do it......I just get sidetracked.
Any other requests???
Polite ones,I mean!!!!

Haven't seen the film but the parasol picture completely sold me on it. Costume porn is far superior to shoe porn I think.

Helga darling, I ADORE your blog, you make me smile every day but please please please for the love of platforms, bumpits and wangs at half mast, please use your space bar between commas and full stops and the next sentence or word. Also PLEASE do something about that horrible 'Free Background' thing that obscures the post titles every day. They may be small details, but they do detract from my enjoyment of your blog (and I'm sure I can't be the only one who finds them terribly distracting!). And THANK YOU - nobody else makes me giggle like you do! Nobody else is writing about Ewan McGregor's wang. J'adore. xxx

Hi Sarah!!
That shitty Background Fairy has been bugging me for ages! I have tried shifting it to the top left, but to no avail. So, a new background now installed! And the advertisment thingy is nicely placed above the post title!! Hurrah! Thanks for pushing me to do that, I was just being bloody lazy!!
Ok, I shall endeavour to put spaces in between commas, dots etc, lovey. I didn't realise it was a problem! Thanks again-I appreciate, and can take, constructive criticism perfectly well. Improving myself-and whatever I am connected with-is important to me!!
(do forgive if I slip up a bit, as I try to type as fast as I think, and may not always remember to go back and pop the spaces in!)
Let me know what you think of this new background, and come back again sooooon!
Hurrah-onwards and upwards with wangs,platforms,bumpits galore!Take care,let me know

Lurve the new background! I haven't seen Velvet Goldmine for years, I must track it down and rewatch it. The costumes were pretty spiffy and I'd forgotten albout the fabulous Murial being in it.
I fancied dear Ewan to death in this and Trainspotting but after watching his road trip thingy and seeing what a wet lettuce he is in real life my flames of passion were soon extinguished!

PS OMG! G should check out Christian Bale's outfit when the parcel arrives x

Oohh great minds think alike, thanks for reminding me about this movie! I've been staring glumly at my (enormous) DVD shelf every day this week and wondering what other movies I need. Tell me more you fabulous woman!

I must admit that JRM freaks me out. I won't let that put me off though - I've never seen this film but I will now track it down and give it a watch!

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's on wang watch during films. I nearly fell off the sofa in shock when watching a random film and totally unexpectedly seeing Harrison Ford's wang.

I do like this film I'n not a great fan of JRM but he has a lovely pout and as for Ewan's knob...well, any given opportunity and it's out there. I do like Christian Bale in this but I LOVE Toni Collette and the costumes are fantastic.

The first time I saw Velvet Goldmine, though I liked the costumes and music and general atmosphere, I wasn't completely sold on it. We did also keep getting interrupted frequently, which may have contributed to that, but I just wasn't really a fan of JRM. About the third time I saw it though, suddenly everything clicked, and I actually decided I like JRM a lot. I've seen him in other movies and he has this peculiar, dramatic and slightly insane energy about him that makes him quite unique among actors his age.
