Biscuity

O, you are a bunch of darlings!
The blue & white frock is most certainly going on the cruise with me!!
Especially after your glorious comments regarding its fabulousness!

This is what I was wearing yesterday, when I was dreadfully hung over, and dragging G about town to source him some footwear.
I found the fur collar in the back of a drawer; I'd quite forgotten about it, and had opshopped it earlier in the year.
OOOOO, slight diversion, I just saw an ad for a show called "Vivienne Westwoods London" Eeeeek! Of course, it starts whilst we are on the cruise, but I'll ask Mikel to record it for me. Eeeeek!
I'm rather into Vivienne, actually.
Ok, where was I?!
Right.
Frock-vintage, opshopped
Cardi-vintage, opshopped
Fur collar-vintage, opshopped
Sandals-vintage, gift
Handbag-vintage, Retropolitan garage sale
Fabulous hair decoration-vintage ribbon, and made by the wonderful Sarah !
The divine vintage sunglasses are also from Sarah!
And now....drum roll please.....onto my awesome opshop scores today!

Red and white maxi! It fits like a dream, but I suspect it won't stay a maxi.
Gold handbag-missing the handle, I have made a handle from some bits of chain this evening, and it is going on the cruise!
Silver wedge soled stillettoes!!! Eeek! ( I don't think I've spelt stilletto right.) (WHATEVER!)
They're also going on the cruise!
*Edit:PLATFORMS is the word I wanted!!!
3 amazing brooches, 3/4 of a necklace that I'll add some ribbon to, and 2 pairs of suck-my-tummy-in vintage knickers!!!
Plus, a burnt orange and cream vintage top for G, it's going on the cruise, so you'll see a pic of him in it later.
All for $26, picked up at 2 different opshops in 1 frenzied hour.
I'm stoked!
Another plus, the ordinarily sour faced woman at my favourite opshop actually smiled at me!
Yessssssssssss!

Incredible! The op-shop gods were certainly smiling down on you today! That maxi is just glorious but I reckon it would totally rock taken up to mini proportions. That jewellery, oh mu gawd, just perfect for a cruise.
I'm up and raring to go if you read this before beddy-byes!
Love you!

So many great finds, as always. Love the bag, and the floral dress is very cute - not the usual Helga style but it really suits :)

Nice haul!

And those sandles you're rocking are sweet! I need more sandals for summer, I keep wearing my plain little black ballet flats every day because my feet get so sore when I clog it up! You always look so fab.

Dearest Helga, isn't great when you find someone who loves clothes as much! You are much more adventurous than me with colours. I go for very glam stuff.

You asked for more detail... These are the pieces I've sorted through and managed to photograph so far... I'm not even halfway through yet. Have a look here - link to new part at the bottom of every page

The fur collar is cute. Looks like you got some fab finds while op shopping. You will be the best dressed lady on the cruise I am sure.

Ooh I am muchly liking the floral frock! I think the red and white maxi would look lovely taken up to a similar length.

Will you be showing us your cruise packing before you go? Can't wait to see you and G glamming the boat up!

Oh I love those shoes! Lovelovelove them. Hey - that headpiece looks divine on you! And your handbags are always fab - it's tricky to find bags that are a decent size - I think in the 1950s ladies only had to carry around lippy and a tissue! (No purses, phones, ipods, sunnies, water bottles, packets of dried fruit, spare stockings, eight different red lippes, some green nail polish, three different packs of photos, a novel, a hair brush, four pens, a pocket knife, tweezers, broken flower hair pin, black eyeliner... or is that just me??)

Looking gorgeous as ever Lady helga - you are such a style Mistress! (And nice big hair too!)

Now where do I start? I'm completely in love with those shoes and need a close-up covet of them. The collar is amazing with that dress and takes the whole outfit to another dimension in Helga's Wonder World!!!! My local opp shops are getting some serious picking over by out-of-towners (don't blame them) and I'm amazed at your delicious finds! xoxoxoxo

Helga, my dear...HAPPY NEW YEAR! Sorry I'm a little late to the party but I've had a great time catching up with all your awesome posts - you are quite prolific! I've loved every outfit, accessory and want to wish you a very happy birthday! I've only been working for two months now but I'm ready for a vacay and would love to join you on the cruise! Loved all the photos of the parties, your friends and by the way you look great without any makeup. How many people can claim that!
