Ambivalence

Ambivalence sums up how I feel about this frock.

It's another Sydney frock, and I do like it....

But I don't think I like it so much on me.

It certainly didn't help that I first spilled breakfast on it, then I smeared biro across it, and then I spilled my lunch on it.

Can't take me anywhere.

But I really just didn't feel right in it.

But I was freakin' stoked with my hair!

It went up beautifully, and was made more dazzling with the addition of this darling 60's hair decoration, courtesy of my wonderful Sarah .

(to whom I owe a few close ups. G's boots, the black and white frock and something else.....I will endeavour to remember to take close up pix, darl!!!)

I was also rather into my sweet little shoes and leopard tights too.

I guess it wasn't all bad.

What do you all think of the frock?

X

O, Rose , sweetie, it certainly was condensation on the camera lens! A fab effect without even trying!

Firstly, thank you for your lovely comment on my blog - it means a lot to me x
I love the outfit, the tangerine colour is gorgeous on you. I really like the hair decoration as well, are the flowers made from velvet? I think our Vix (missing her loads) has some tights like those - you are tights twins!

I think you look amazing in everything i agree the colour does suit you and i am loving those tights. But i agree if you don't feel right in something it real spoils your mood. Your hair looks real pretty, dee x

I'm guessing you're feeling uncomfortable in that dress because it's a very different colour for you and because you can't wear a belt with it. If you had a long black or grey crochet gilet and black tights with it, or a long scarf that draped down either side front, it'd look quite different again. At least it's a dress with myriad possibilities. I'd wear it! xx.

Oh the velvet hair thing looks FABULOUS!! Yay!

Well, I really like the frock on you (I especially love the black and white detailing on it) and it has some Laverne and Shirley vibe that I adore. But as Vix would say "If it doesn't make you feel fabulous then get rid of it".

You are right to feel FAB about the tights and shoes - they are totally rock the house awesome! Thanks for the close ups. Consider yourself kissed.

Loveandlove, Sarah xxx

Dear Helga,
I love the colour of the dress. The style reminds me a little of those dresses worn by American cafe waitresses in the 50s but that is not at all a bad thing in my opinion.
I really like how you've teamed it with those fantabulous tights & the hair decoration is super funky too.
Take care luv,
Jem

Oooh I really like it. The piping detail is really flattering and the pocket/collar trim is brilliant. Is it the shape you don't like, or the colour, or something else?

I think it is the cut, it remind me of an overall, you know like a uniform someone would wear? You must have subconsciously been trying to get out if it with all the spillages :) your tights are hot to trot!

you look like a hot 50's diner chick, I love black and white deteail amor.
I know some cuts are not good for me. like the house dress, I wore on Saturday, ay the belt was to thin.
love the cute brown shoes and leopard tights.

I like the color of the dress, that orange shade is pretty!, and I love how you wear it with your leopard tights!, but what about a belt?, a bright color one?, or something in a contrast color, like Green??
Loving your headpiece and your awesome style!!

Hi there I am quite a new reader of your blog I found you via vix, and I have to say you are ace,and I love how you rock the vintage vibe. However, this dress reminds me of the overall the ladies in uk supermarkets wore in the 70's while that's not a bad thing it's not really good either but I have to say no of them rocked it quite like you are now back then.

The frock looks like it might have formerly been a waitress' uniform. Cannot get over how tiny your feet look in the shoes.

Ohhh, cute cute cute shoes! Love the little triangles. And they look great with the tights! Reow! I too love the dress and reckon it would look even better with a skinny black belt - preferrably patent black! But then again, I put belts on everything!
