Last night I dweamt I was a sausage roll!

Well, actually I didn't, but that line of Queenies from Blackadder II amuses me endlessly.

In fact, I dreamt that I was running around with a rabbits head on, Ronnie Rabbit style whilst wearing a fabulous silver sequin frock! Doing what, I have no idea, but I'd love to get my hands on that frock in real life!!!

Anyway.

This pic is from 1987, I think.

Maybe 1988.

Goodness!

I think I kinda like that hair still!

80's hair, so much work but worth every bit of teasing and spraying. Aqua net was my glue of choice.

You look beautiful!

So you're the one responsible for that great big hole in the ozone, are you?

Oh just look at the gorgeousness of little Helga-in-the-80s!
That's a helluva hair do, bet it was high maintenance. I certainly used enough hairspray to make a considerable contribution to that hole in the ozone layer too...
Plus backcombing, of course. My hair positively crackled!

More please!!

You are a vision! You totally rocked the 80s. Flock of Seagulls, oh yes!

You looked (and still look) so gorgeous! I love that crazy hair style - I was either not born or only just born when that picture was taken - but if I were a teenager of the 80s I would have definitely loved to have rocked something similar - Love it! xxx

Dearest Helga,
firstly let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful surprise parcel that my postie brought this morning, I was chuffed to bits & almost moved to tears...I'm such a wet blanky I know ;)
I am currently luxuriating in the stunning 'oriental crafts' frock...as a matter of fact today's outfit was immediately whipped off in favour of it :)
There's a short break in the rain now so I'm off to take some pics on the balcony, I'll blog them later.
Thanks a million for being such a sweetie and for knowing my loves not to mention my dress size so remarkably well.
I also wanted to say that I LOVE the hairstyles of your youth, we've been treated to a few of them now and I totally agree with what Kitty said in her comment "you've always been a fashion queen"!
Lot's of love,
Jennie

That hair is back! My friend just cut her hair short and has been styling it like that. I would do it too if I wasnt trying so hard to grow out my hair. Once I grow it out ill do a big cut and dedicate it to "vintage helga."

A sausage roll eh? You sure G wasn't getting frisky? You look so sweet in your flash back pic - I love seeing these old photos! If you were to go into a hairdresser salon, and you wanted that haircut, what would you ask for? Or was that a DIY project??!!

"I was having this scrummy dream about ponies when Melchie woke me up with a lot of banging!"
Blackadder II is my favourite of the series and in 1986 I was watching it on a loop.
Why am I not surprised that you're popping out such a wonderfully nutty quote while I have utter 80s hair envy from looking at this photo? I would have run after you down the street in my black tutu to get quiffy hair tips from you! xoxoxooxxo
