Slocombe Surprise!

I was tremendously flattered on Saturday, when out with Nix at her school clothing sale, to be approached several times by ladies telling me how fabulous I looked!
One of them works for some local rag, and asked me of I would pose for the new, upcoming street style section.
Well, yes!
So yesterday afternoon I went and had my pic taken, and this is the outfit I wore.
Frock-made by moi from fabric I bought in Campeche, Mexico
Coat-vintage, theatre sale
Cardi-opshopped
Belt-garage sale
Stockings-opshopped
Shoes-Saturday's clothing sale at Rangi Ruru Highschool
Bag-vintage, vintage shop in Woolston that got flattened by the quake (poo)

Not sure when the pix will come out, it might be on a website-I'll keep an eye out.
Earrings-opshopped,converted from clip on by moi
Top necklace-vintage, opshopped, is only 1/2 complete, so I attached an orange ribbon to it
Heart necklace-heart bought in Oaxaca, beading by moi
Bow-an Asian shop
Sunglasses-vintage, Sarah

When I got home, I found a mysterious parcel waiting for me!!!
Chock full of wonderful goodies, like lemon sherbets and a handmade Mrs Slocombe bag!!!
CUE SQUEALS OF ENORMOUS PROPORTIONS!
Plus some darling earrings, handmade card and a sweet rosary for when I feel guilty.....(which you may be surprised to know, is fairly often. And then I'm over it! hahahaaa)
Thank you, Liz , so very much for a wonderful surprise!!!
I love it all, and the bag is FIRKING  amazing!!!

I've been very blessed by generous acts lately, I also received a parcel from Jen last week, and Desiree
the week before that, and I haven't even shown you the goodies I got from them properly.....they've been creeping in here and there.......EEEEEEEK!

I am such a lucky, lucky, lucky gal to have such splendiferously fabulous blogger friends!!!
O, I want to take you all out into a field and ravage you senseless!
X

Chomby is so cute and healthy today! He has been laying stretched out in front of the heater and I don't have to worry that he is in pain :) It is so good. Thank you for checking back lots to hear news, he was so up & down throughout the week that I was afraid to post about him being better when I knew he'd be down again in a few hours :( But all good now!

How fab that you got scouted! It's nice when people pay you a compliment on how you look even though it might seem a little different to some. (I'm in the middle of writing a post about being called an ''ugly freak'' by a stranger. I don't think they liked the 50's rockabilly style I was sporting that day!)As for that bag, I just had to put by cuppa down for the health and safety of my laptop! Hilarious!
