Desperately Seeking Dumplings

Desperately Seeking Susan Dumplings
Meet me at the old Salesyards
Bring your own sauce.
G helped me style this look, after we watched Desperately Seeking Susan together yesterday afternoon whilst drinking mezcal.
He had never seen it, and really enjoyed it!
You may remember this frock from my dead bride post in May.
I've just hitched it up around the waist and added a belt.
The tails are vintage, and were from a friend.
The boots I bought in the nineties, and haven't worn for frigging ages! In fact, I've probably only worn them once in the last ten years!
We took Justine out for dumplings, cos she's been having a shitty weekend.
G and I have been wanting to do a shoot at these old saleyards over on Deans Ave for a while. No idea why this massive mostly vacant lot has never been developed! Great setting, though!
We busted G's dumpling virginity.
O yeah.

Here's something you don't see everyday....
The great wall of foundation garments!

That's the arm of the couch on the bottom left!

Hope y'all having a splendid weekend!
We have tomorrow off; it's Labour Day here in NZ-hurrah!
I am currently slightly sozzled on red wine!
It's gotten all warm and sunny and a bit oozy......mmmmm
PS: I am totally petrified of spiders, I can't even bear the word, really, so sorry if I made anyone feel oogly (like I make myself feel just thinking about it)yesterday!
White tails are quite poisonous; they came over from Australia, NZ has nothing native that's poisonous!

It always amazes me street art there are some real great talents out there that will never ever be regonised. You look amazing love the outfit you almost remind me of Madonna back in the 80's to. Have a great day off tomorrow, dee xx

O my goodness, Helga! I wish I could be as brave and awesome as you. You're fantastic, lady. I must watch Desperately Seeking Susan. I was scarred after watching Madonna "act" in that movie with Rupert Everett, but maybe I'll give Madonna the actress another go.

Dashfield Vintage said...

Ooo you look kind of Victorian in this outfit! I love dresses with super high collars and lots of lace. I used to work in costume and wardrobe and would use any excuse to go and raid the Victorian section! And dumplings, YUM!! I could happily eat them everyday for the rest of my life!

you are so freakin' awesome i can even think.

love the look. love the attitude. and the foundation garment needs its own calender.

Feck me, girl! You are our poster girl, you know that don't you?!I could run up and down those legs all day!
That's a stonking location. I wish we had such a place here, but they'd have knocked it down and built twenty starter homes on it.

Rose&Bird said...

You look great - I love the combination of black and white! What a great setting - you'd struggle to find places like that here. they're either boarded up cos of 'elth and safety, or been knocked down and turned into yuppie hutches!

Two things I now need to do in my life - eat dumplings and watch Desperately Seeking Susan, although not necessarily at the same time.

Thanks for clearing the "arm of the couch" :) (or is it just me with a bit too naughty imagination". I looove the photos with the graffiti background and you in them makes them just fab.
