Joni Mitchells "Blue" album is one of my most favourite freaking albums ever !
Just thought you'd like to know.
It's certainly in my top 5 albums....what are my top 5?!
Jeez, that probably changes regular like, but today we'll say that they are, in no particular order,

Joni Mitchell "Blue"
Kate Bush "The Kick Inside"
Siouxsie and the Banshees "Dazzle"
Queens of the Stone Age "Songs for the Deaf"
Bauhaus "In the Flat Field"

Anyone else care to share their top 5 albums?!

I came home to a parcel of joy from the darling Sue yesterday!

2 fabulous brooches, a gorgeous scarf, the most amazing headpiece (did you make that, sweets?!), a killer kaftan, a necklace, earrings and a scrummy pair of tights!!

What do we say?!
We say SQUEE!

Thank you, lovely!

Aside from that splendidness, I gave up on Salman Rushdies "Shalimar the Clown".
It just wasn't lighting my fire.
Might just be timing, so I will tackle it again sometime.
For now, though, I've decided to re-read some Anne Rice for a little Southern Gothic inspiration.
After all, we're going to be in New Orleans in June, and I need to get really excited.
It's been a very long time since I read any Anne Rice.
I am enjoying the "Life and Times of Gypsy Rose Lee".
I just put a pile of books on my Kindle yesterday arvo, a nice mixture of history, biographies and a bit of travel.....just getting it ready for my couple of trips this year.....
Usually I travel with 5 books, and then get anxious about finding book exchanges, as I tend to chew through them with travelling.
This time I will have an entire library at my fingertips.

Ahhhhh I love the Bauhaus! So few people in America have heard of them. Love Joni too! You look FABULOUS in that frock I love the flower :)
I read all of Anne Rice's stuff when I was younger and it started my love for vampires (the nonsparkly kind)

Rock that green lady! You look great! I think I will have to buy a kindle before my next trip, it just seems like the sensible thing to do. On my most recent trip I read a lot as I was travelling by myself and when I was in Thailand I was racing around trying to find a book to read!

Loving the pattern and colouring of that dress, and the way you picked out the blues to match your shoes. Great photo by the tree :)

You look so beautiful my dear hair down trees and green around, I wanna get lost in this lush place with you! I am loving your parcel full of treats we all have the flower bug now! I would have the hardest time picking a top five albums but here goes;
Kataonia- The Great Cold Distance
Tori Amos-Little Earthquakes
Beastie Boys- Pauls Boutique
Meatbeat Manifesto-Subliminal Sandwich
Peaches~ Fatherfucker

My favorite Anne Rice book is The Violin. To also get ready for your adventure in New Orleans I suggest the True Blood series shot in the south. I went to New Orleans before Katrina, it's a friggin magical place.

Ooh, I was singing the song when I saw your post title, I love that album too. (Except I can't sing as high as Joni, I need to sing an octave lower!)
You are a total vision of loveliness, nestling amongst the foliage like a nymph... Or should that be a dryad? Anyway, you know what I mean - you look bloody gorgeous! I do love to see your hair down now and again in all its Titian glory.
I can't possibly decide on a top 5 albums, but I'd probably have some Kate Bush in there too (Hounds of Love maybe but I love them all.) Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss would probably make it on the list.
Wonderful parcel of joy - lucky girl! xxxxxxxxx

I love you in green... I mean I love you in any colour, but green especially. I'd love to go to New Orleans, I really would squeeeeeeee!!! I must get my reading mojo back on, got a massive pile of unread. My top 5 albums changes by the hour, but at the moment I am addicted to Lana Del Rey. Xx

Hannah said...

You look brilliant, love all the green. Red hair ans green is like the bestest.I want to go to New Orleans, never read any Anne Rice, think I need to rectify this. xxx

Rose&Bird said...

Green Goddess ahoy! It still looks summery down in NZ!
I'm ashamed to admit I haven't heard any of those albums, though I've heard music from all of those artists except Bauhaus. I don't know about a definitive top five albums of all-time, but I would put Blur's Parklife (the first album I ever bought) in it for sure. At the moment I'm really into 2 newish British artists Emili Sande and Ben Howard.

Luscious hair - you surprise us all the time with your up and down styles. And the shoes!!!! The ones I love most in your posts all seem to be from trade me - are they sold on by ex-owners who don't realise how fabulous they are???

Albums - Hips and Makers, Kristin Hersh. Sons and Fascination, Simple Minds. Troublegum, Therapy?. Dog Man Star, Suede. And picking a 5th one is just impossible - can I have another 30? ;) xx
