Dance 10 Looks 3

I finally finished shortening the sleeves on this rocking horse print square dance frock I picked up in Alamagorgdo, New Mexico.....they were ghastly, and I simply had to hack them off with a pair of nail scissors somewhere along the road....
With what I cut off, I made some wee pockets, if you can see them.
It's a modern frock, someones homemade job, and it makes me feel happy with it's childish print.

Heart earrings-Santa Fe
Blue bead earrings-made by a lovely friend
Turquoise necklace-gift from G's folks, they got it in Arizona, I think
Silver necklace-a Shabby Chic market

We were blessed with sunshine yesterday.
Not just sunshine, but a glorious warm day, with temperatures up to the 20's, I believe.
Bring it ON!

Shoes-Goodwill, Santa Fe
Tights-opshopped

I've also been altering this frock that my beloved Vix sent me.
It was  an ankle length sack.
I did take a before pic, but due to a computer virus over the weekend, I seem to have lost my picture files, hopefully temporarily.
I shortened it, and used the excess to make this jabot with a wee bow.
I suspect I am about to succumb to a jabot frenzy....they're so Mrs Slocombe, and I think I need many.....and I like to think they'll detract from the old booboids a bit.
I may still need to shorten it a little bit more, but I can't wait to rock an all white look.
And how pleasant it was to finally sit down and have a little sew....I keep whining about getting inspired, but I think the truth is that I am simply too lazy half the time!
Tsk tsk.
It's just like my report cards from school; "could do better".......
Hmph.

Feck me, that is one hell of a transformation! I hardly recognised that old sack!!! I wish i could show it to the lady I bought it from! You are a genius!
Love that merry-go-round dress! the print is glorious, it reminds me of a skirt I sent Sarah last year! You are not only sex on legs but brilliantly talented, too!
20 degrees? that's warmer than it was here!!!
Love you!

The print on your frock is to die for - how I do love a good novelty print!

I admire that you look tough in demure clothing. I would look like a kindergarten teacher.

That rocking horse dress is so cute, but the white frock is fab, I can't wait to see you rocking that. It has a very 60s vibe. It's a pain when you don't get time to sew isn't it? That said I think I'm less dedicated to the craft than a lot of other bloggers. Xx

Oooh, the print on this dress is adorable! I love how you still look like a total badass wearing it. ;)

You can't be too bloody lazy if you can be bothered making a jabot!! Looks complicated to me!! Love your stuff as always.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

It's bloody warmer in NZ in the winter than the UK in the summer! You look simply fabulous in your rocking horse dress and can be assured that no one else will ever have one. Amazing sewing skills, my old hostie uniform had a lacy jabot and I found it was great for making my miniscule booboids look larger.

I'm totally crazy for carousel horses and that dress has one of the best print I've ever seen!perfect with the total turquoise accessories, the shoes are so beautiful and I love the bow... I don't know if it's a fake, but I found out on the net that an high bow like yours means that you are avaiable for a relationship, if wore in the back that you are taken!
great job with the white dress, sometimes we just have to start again to sew and then the magic happens again...can't wait to see you in that awesome creation!!!

That merry-go-round horse dress is fantastic! Someone better hide all the Sharpies in the house before I try to draw horses all over my clothes.

Love it!

First off, can I say that since "A Chorus Line" is my favorite musical, I love you even more for having that as your title. Second, that blue looks so good on you! Those shoes! I'm in love. Love the print on the dress too!

Yay!

I enjoyed the title of this post too! I don't think I've seen a Jabot, or have even heard anyone mention one, for eons. Kudos to you for adding one to the former sack, which is now a sassy "frock with front interest". Nice mixing of the rocking horses and all the turquoise.

The print on the dress is whimsical! I can just picture you whacking off the sleeves with nail scissors. And if anyone can start a jabot trned, it is you.

*screams* The print on that dress is too much. I want it.

Fark! The first frock is SPLENDID - you look so beautiful, amor!!! I adore the darling blue accessories (the shoes, the bow!!!) and it must be a LOT warmer over there - it was still minus three here this morning! No short sleeves for me!

And the second frock is just amazing - you are so amazingly TALENTED!!! I had no idea that was called a jabot - and I want to say it a million times - jabot jabot jabot jabot jabot!

Love you more than jabot!!! Skype Round Two this evening!

the frock from vix is absolutely lovely. and nowadays, if i get something new, it seems the first thing I do is cut off some bit of it.. usually the bottom because t-shirts are uniformly too long! love the bloggg.. and yes the childish print did make me happy!

"could do better." TOO FUNNY. Don't you love those bullshit report card phrases? We should make them into greeting cards.

Love the blue and the dress from a warm, clear sky part of the U.S. The print on it is so fun. I'm looking forward to your all white ensemble.

That print is the most amazing thing ever! I love it! Oh and the jabot is wonderful, so very you, perhaps you could go shorter? You're a glamourpuss so you can get away with a daring length! xxxxx
