I remain on the far side of crazy

Whilst in Santa Fe, New Mexico, we spent some time at the art gallery.
It's the most fabulous "adobe" structure!

This was our favourite piece in the whole place!

The visit was marred somewhat by a trio of ladies who felt they had to shout their way through the gallery........fecking annoying!
We did ask them if it was necessary to be so loud, but they couldn't seem to comprehend how distracting their noise was to our experience of the gallery.
Some people!

There are some spectacular buildings in central Santa Fe.....

.......and these houses just rock my panties off!
I've always loved these kind of adobe houses; Mexican styley is my bag, baby!
( I also love Thai and Indian structures and interiors as well.)
Mix it with a dash of retro and I'm a happy girl.

So inspiring.
G and I feel that Christchurch should be rebuilt in Santa Fe style.
It could be the Santa Fe of the South!
Gawd knows there's enough mud around from all the rain lately!

It looks like a fantastic place. I love the vibrant colours of Mexican interiors. It's so annoying when people have complete disregard for the experience of those around them, grrrr! Xx

Oh I hate people who love the sound of thier own voices. I'd like to have heard you giving them a 'polite' dressing down! ha ha. I also thought your summer had started early when I saw your fabulous pink outfit. I especially love the wicker bag and yellow flower. Thank you for sharing these fantastic buildings xxxx

Are you rather wishing you were back there in Santa Fe? It does look beautiful, and the gallery is delightful. Look at those gorgeous blue skies...
Other people's yapping is a pain in the arse. Mine, however, is hilarious and charming...
You look very calm and serene in pink, despite the annoyingness of folk. Rather an intellectual look about you too, Miss Helga the Art Critic!
Great song/vid!

Great photos! I like adobe structures too, but I think I am too Victorian-drawn to be in one all the time! But I do really like them, and I am sure you could made an adobe structure the coolest place ever! Loud people in public? The only thing worse is people who walk between you and what you are looking at without saying excuse me, and I am seeing more and more of that. Good grief!

Santa Fe is amazing, the whole state of New Mexico is a wonderland. Years ago I toured Acoma and when you walk into their plan, white washed church, there's a dear hide painting that's from the late 1660's. Just hanging there with birds flying in and out the door and dogs running around your legs. It's awesome

AH this museum looks so cute and I too love the wooden dash! I can't believe, wait yes I can, some people! I am loving the architecture too! I might be white on the outside but if you cut me open I am brown inside :)
You look pretty in pink my dear!

Jon's always said how much I'd love it there and wow, I'm not surprised, it's gorgeous!!! I love how your fabulous pink ensemble compliments the landscape and that adobe structure is just awesome!!
Bugger, that sounds like me, the Liz's and our other mate, Tracey, at the art gallery on Tuesday! We're a hideously raucous bunch, over-excited by art and totally insensitive to anyone wanting some quiet time to reflect, no class!
What a fab rebuild that would be, tell the Christchurch city planners!
LOVE!!! xxxxxxx

Hola,I have always wanted to visit New Mexico. Something about that place just draws me in.

But in the meantime,I am wanting some Mexican food so I think I will take myself down to the local taqueria and do some serious munching. Can I get you anything?

You look fabulous by the way!

Ah-Santa Fe is on my someday list!!! I love the bold colors, the FOOD!!

You would adore the American Visionary Museum in Baltimore, MD. It's all "tramp art"--like a boat made of match stix, mosaics made from glass found on the sides of the road. Sculptures from tin cans. All of the artists are untrained "folk" artists. AWESOMENESS!!

You look more fabulous then all of the building in your pink!!

Anything Mexican style is FANTASTIC!! We have a few Mexican style homes here and I love them!!

Another selection of fantasticle photos from your holiday. You in pink, in front of spectacular art!! I would love to have one of those hay bail houses covered in plaster that sort of look Mexican, thick as walls with alcoves and huge window sills.

YOur 'shocking' pink stands out a treat against the dust-coloured backgrounds. You so saw some amazing stuff...yes, I'm just a *tad* jealous!

you do look very at home in Mexico going by these photos Helga, what a beautiful place. I've got a book about the home altars made by women in different cultures and a lot of them are Mexican and so beautiful. xx

Catching up!

We went to the art gallery when we were in Santa Fe, but they didn't have that amazing 'car' at the time (I would have remembered!) I loved Santa Fe, it had the most amazing colours and vibe.

You look lovely in these photos, really cool and relaxed. xx

The light in these photos is wonderful and would have to agree about the architecture in Sante Fe. Did you happen to see the circular staircase in the nun's chapel...that was built miraculously by a carpenter who appeared out of nowhere?

Beautiful! that instalation art piece is really funny, I like art that has a sense of humour to it.
As for being on the far sid eof crazy, isn't that the best place to be?

Great photos! And love your outfit. What a gorgeous hot pink dress that is - it's great to see people make the effort to get dressed up when they are on holiday. So many people resort to dull sportswear and trainers sightseeing - you've retained all that old school glamour of being on vacation and making it an event.
