I remembered all by myself to show you some of what lives in pretty vintage tins in my jewellery "nook".
(I don't know why I am calling it a nook, I don't really like the word...it's more of an alcove.)
The lily tin hold all of my fabulous 50's/60'/70's and some 80's s clip on and screw earrings, the majority of which were gifts from you lovelies!
I plan to turn some of these into pierced....the pain when I wear clip ons for more than a couple of hours is indescribeable!
The amusing (to me, anyway) tartan tin holds a super sized scrum of brooches, my scarf rings and my one and only pair of sweater clips.
A great many of these too, were gifts form you lovelies!
The gifted pieces are even more special to me than the lucky finds I have made over the years!
The scarf ring with the lady on it and the one above her don't actually work, but I wear all the others a lot...although I had forgotten about the triple flying duck one until I pulled these all out! It was my first one, and I had no idea what it was until the lady at the Goodwill in Riccarton told me! $2 later and it was mine all mine, and the precursor of a small collection....
This is a sort of new collection?!
I decided to pull out a few bits of fabric and the patterns I want to use with them...
The jacket pattern, left, is from Vix, and that bit of 60's fabric has been lying around for years!
The middle top piece of fabric was from a swap with Max, the bottom piece from Two Squirrels, the green crimplene was an opshop find, and the frock patterns were from Etsy.
(I also have a fabularsehole piece of fabric that Sarah sent me which I have temporarily mislaid, and a divine double breasted sailorish frock pattern to use it for !)
Which shall I start first?!
And just for good measure, here's a couple of pix of what I wore to band practice the other night....
Nearly forgot; here's G demonstrating how to wear clip on earrings:
