By her singular eyes piercing out through a flight path of rareified air

I am a luck-luck-lucky gal!
I got to hang out this afternoon with the gorgeous Leisa of Vintage Bird Girl and her hubby Paul!!!
SQUEE!
Naturally, she is a total sweetheart....
(And check out her divoon frockage!)
O, how I love Blogworld, where all the fabulous gals are just exactly as wonderful in person as you might think!!!
We had a little lunch at a cafe in the Container Mall and then trotted off to Retropolitan for a gawk.....

Leisa scored a fabulous frock, and Paul a fabulous shirt...I tried on this fabulous frock....and then wasn't sure!
G thinks I'm nuts, as he really liked it.........
I can't explain why I didn't leap on it!
Opinions, please?!
Should I go back for it?

Then we trotted on up to Madame Butterfly's; her sale has extended as the date for her moving out is now in question...
And I scored the above fabulous blue frock!
This one I just couldn't walk away from, although I'm going to have to take it up and in.

And some outfit details:
Frock-refashined 70's maxi, opshopped
Jacket-refashioned 80's , opshopped
White fishnets and 60's handbga-Portland, Oregon
Shoes-Trade Me
Hairbow (and the trim on my frock!) - the chutzpah laden Sarah
White beads and white sunnies-opshopped
Skull necklace-gift from G

I had a wonderful sunny Spring afternoon!
I love to meet new people with similar interests!

Rock on, Blogland, y'all give me the horn!

X

Ah, you met up with Leisa! I love that girl, she has great frocks and is such a honey. What fun to do lunch and then do a little vintage shopping together.
I can totally see you in the blue dress, after you've done the necessary tweaking, looking forward to the photos.
Always love you in red, white and blue, you look exceptionally minxy in that first photo with the flash of cleavage and a twinkle in your eye!
Guess what I'm doing tomorrow??? A little boggy meet up is happening.... That's deserves a Helga SQUEEEEEE!!!! xxxxxxx

So glad you and Vintage Bird Girl had a wonderful time together. I love the photo of you two together, you both look wonderful. Now, Helga, the dress. I like it, but I must admit its not a nice as the blue one, and the non-matching, actually not even close to matching pattern is perhaps an issue? Maybe? Maybe not. I am covetting your red white and blue striped jacket, god it is just fabulous.

You know you want the frock, so go back for it. You made it look wonderful. And yes my necklace is rather fabulous! If I change my mind I know who to pass it on to. Have a lovely weekend with your G man and your pokies!!

I know what you mean about the dress. It does look lovely on you but I think maybe the neckline is a little frumpy?? It would be worth getting it if you could change the neckline a bit or add a collar or something? How lovely to have a bloggy meet up. I believe there is one happening in darkest Walsall tomorrow and I'm a bit gutted I can't go!!:( I am jealous of Retropolitan. Too much good stuff I wouldn't be able to resist. Nice to hear some AAE again. I bought a magazine the other week that made me think of you right away! I blogged about it my last post xxxx

I'd love to meet you in person!!!!
I'm very far from everyone here, I have to start a world tour as Miss Simmonds suggested...In my opinion the dress you left in the shop looks good on you and the print was pretty, but I'm not persuaded by the buttons, so I'm sure that you can find a better frock! I'm in love with the blue one you are wearing in the photos, stunning bow too!!!!

Ha, just popped back to see what everyone has been saying, and spotted that I typo-ed boggy instead of bloggy. I think it's this bloody iPad, keeps changing what I type and I don't notice... Mind you, a couple of bottles of wine in Wetherspoons with the Walsall posse, and things might get a little boggy....
Love you, bet your ears will be burning tomorrow cos we'll be chatting about you, you may be able to hear the squealing! xxxxxx

yup, i agree with the gals, the dress is specatular, its probably in need of your divine cleavage being thrust out and not hidden (some helgs tinkering with a sewing machine) - but i am in love with the dress and you do look like a siren x

You both look beautiful! God it actually looks like summer already in Christchurch. You're having a really good time of catching up with fellow bloggers at the moment aren't you :).

Frockin yes you should get the Frock...only you can give it the proper home. Lovely Helga you rock it and the Frock needs you...as well as the belt. Love the handbag.

You make me smile! I do like the dress you tried and were not sure about. It looks really, really good on you. I tried to figure out why you would not like it. The print seems maybe unlike what you usually go for? I am not sure. Anyway, it looks really good on you! I would probably get it, but you have to make YOU HAPPY!

Geez, do you ever have a non-stylishly perfect day? Every single photo and every single frock ensemble is beauuuuuuuutiful. And I'm not just saying that. ;)

I'm in love with your bolero jacket and handbag. I can't help myself. You always have the greatest blog post titles...!

Oh so wonderful that you get to meet from blogland! Everyone lives too far away from me boohoo. I really like the flowery frock on you think you should go back for it! Love love that stripey jacket xxx

I like that G is supportive of your frocks! at the market when girls ask their boyfriends 9/10 say they aren't fussed about it...! why ask them? just buy it...unless you have someone like your G or my J actually!

Ivy Black said...

Yup...I'm with the G-man. Go and get that frock, it's a beaut.
I love it when bloggers meet up.

Red, white, and blue look good on you! Plus you made white fishnets look amazing-no mean feat!! Blogdom is definitely the best. Glad you had fun with your blogging buddy. I'll have to check her out!

Ack, you are so incredibly gorgeous! This outfit is utterly amazing. I love the red, white & blue combination! I really like the floral frock as well, but I think you have much more amazing ones in your collection!

Amber of Butane Anvil said...

My favourite things about this post are how much fun you are having, that amazing striped jacket, and your bag and shoes!

I would be tempted to get the dress! It has so many good points - fit, length, shape, great print - and the only drawback I can kind of see if I squint a little is maybe the neckline needs some tweaking or accessorization, perhaps?

On the other hand, I am trying hard to practise absolutely requiring myself to love something 100% in order to bring it home, so. If you weren't feeling it, forget it!

lasophia said...

If you cant stop thinking about it then I definitely say go back. But if you have something similar at home, just pass. I hate that feeling. Glad to know spring has finally arrived there, I know how cold you were.

Lucky meeting up! I said if she was in the tron I'd take her op-shopping (op-shop mecca here in Hamil-vegas!!!) but I don't think she'll be coming this way. (Why do people spend so much time in Auckland?!@ I will never know)

I LOVE the new blue frock, but actually I'm not loving the one that got away. It's not working for me.

Eeeekkkk! I love a good blogger meet-up!!! Lisa has such a pretty smile and you look magnificent in your trademark red, white and blue booboid excellence!!!!!
Want the truth? You do? I'm not feeling the love for that frock you left behind. I frigging love that blue one, as well you know, I think the sunflower one looks good because you, your hair and make up are doing all the work!
Love you!

How lovely you got to meet Vintage Bird Girl! You look absolutely AMAZING, darling! I love the red white and blue - the jacket! The frock! The shoes! THE HANDBAG!!!

The floral frock is ok - I really love the fabric, but perhaps not the style - and I'm glad you didn't get it if you weren't sure - you must have been channelling Vix's Law! The blue one, however, is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY YOU! Can't wait to see you in it!

Love you more than red white and blue! Sarah xxx
