When we play at cards you use an extra sense (it's really not cheating)

The last lot of Kaikoura pix!
It was a damp Saturday evening (hence the condensation on the lens!) as we cycled up to our friends Dave and Jana's house...
Jana's cousin kindly agreed to babysit so we could go out on the "town" for dinner!
I paid a whole DOLLAR for this frock at a thrift store in Truth or Consequences!!
The zip was completely fecked, and it was a little small....but I rather fancied it and could see the potential, and for $1 I wasn't going to leave it behind.
(It was ONE DOLLAR!)

Cycling at breakneck speed down this path was rather fun whilst drunk...one just had to watch out going under the bridgey bit that one didn't get a dent in one's forehead...
I alternately squealed and conducted demonic braking manoeuvres as I zoomed away!

We went to a fancyarse restaurant and then onto an equally fancyarse bar.
'Twas very pleasant indeed!
I was spotted by an aquaintance from outside the restaurant who said I looked like Peta Mathias.....
As an admirer, I'll take that as a fine compliment!

Y'know, I have loathed blue and yellow as a colour combination for years.
I suspect it's because blue and yellow kitchens were all the rage at one point, and so overwrought.
But this frock may just have cured me of my blue and yellow angst!
Next thing you know, I'll be rocking green and yellow together, another pet hate!

Stranger things have happened!

Like Vix and beige, never say never!
I love the combination, I am so glad you saved the frock, it makes the booboids look magnifiques (what doesn't?) and with your mustard legs, ooh gorgeous! In fact, I have thought this for ages but not said it - you have the BEST calves!
The tartan coat and the tap dancing shoes (ha, I am remembering that fabulous tap dancing post of Sarah's, and the pic in your side bar!) are a sight to behold. As were you, I'm sure, flying down that path on your bike, pissed!
Green and yellow next please!
I am ALWAYS touched by your presence, dear! xxxxx

You really have a talent for dressing. The beautiful colour combinations that you always manage to pull together never stop amazing me. oh and as always yours shoes... so perfect! Ha ha oh it has been a long time since I've cycled drunk. I think the last time was in London on one fateful night where I ended up steering head first into a giant pile of rubbish sacks. Yuck.

I'm ALWAYS touched by your presence, dear! That dollar frock was a complete find and it's glorious with the yellow tights, amazing cape and red shoes.
I know what you mean about blue and yellow kitchens, those 1980s horrors with artificial sunflowers! Go on, if I can do beige, you can totally rock green and yellow!
LOVE the new header and wish I had the foresight for taken-in-advance pictures!
Love you! Vix

Well I'm particularly loving the red shoes!! But I know what you mean about the blue and yellow, it's all a bit primary without any primal!! I hope that makes sense!!

Gorgeous brights! That's funny about your pet peeve colour combos, I was going to say I love the addition of the yellow. Your drunken bicycling adventure story is wonderful, and I covet those shoes!

LOVE this outfit - so cheerful! And, you are channeling the Swedish flag, kind of - blue/yellow - I think I saw somewhere on your blog that you like to "read" Swedish blogs, so there ya go!

The yellow is deelish - and picks up the yellow in the plaid coat, which is even more deelish. And the blue dress highlights your beautiful eyes!

I discovered your blog, and those of many of your cohorts, recently and have been enjoying them so much - thank you Helga, for sharing your joie de vivre, as well as your fab outfits!

Wow I totally love the plaid overcoat. It's so pretty and totally stands out. I'm kinda afraid of biking. I have a really nice beach cruiser that I don't use because I fear that someone will try to run me over.

I love the red shoe/yellow tight combo. Those shoes are to die for!

As for a color combo I loathe: baby blue and beige. It sets my teeth on edge!

$1 frock? Hells YEAH! I've got a BIG frock that I want to rework into something else at the moment, the fabric is fabulous. If only someone would pay me for sewing and being awesome.

I'm not a huge fan of yellow and blue either - but you make it work my dear (but then you could make ANYTHING work).

That restaurant looks AWESOME - I've already eaten. But now I want pizza too!
