Golden brown, texture like sun

I'd nearly forgotten these, from a couple of weeks ago, when it was still a little chilly.

I think G was actually carrying his own stuff this particular day, as this isn't a very big handbag!
Funny how many of us seem to carry our mens wallets and general crap!
I always, but always, have a handbag, and although G does have a very nice patchwork denim manbag I made him, he doesn't always like to carry it.
Nor does he like to have bulging pockets.
They detract from the main bulge, I suppose!!

Handbag-60's, a school fair for $1 (!)
Sunglasses-vintage Oroton, dahhhlings, from gorgeous Sarah (have you seen her fabularsehole pink frock today?! HEAVEN!)
Earrings-from the sweetest Squirrel !

Speaking of the lucious Sarah, I recieved a parcel of joy from her yesterday!!!
Super SQUEE!

A rather hilariarse card, a divoon hairbow, a darling diamante necklace, some raspberry sweeties (childhood favourites, these!!), a splendid yellow and white frock and the travelling yellow skirt !
Thank you, o scrumptious one!!!
Thank YOU!
I'm quite exited.

I'm waiting in anticipation to see what you'll do with the yellow skirt. I ALWAYS have a bag too and from time to time I end up with Rich's stuff. I do love those yellow tights, I've been finding myself drawn to yellow a lot lately.

You always have the best shoes Helga, I'm so jealous of your high heels. I always always have a bag too, and I don't do small bags, even for a night out I need to travel prepared for any eventuality. Looking forward to seeing you in the yellow skirt. xx

I love love love your coat! The fabric is amazingggg, what a find. Also funny you should say you always end up carrying G's stuff, me and Jack are the opposite! He likes to wear a backpack everywhere so I can give him my water bottle and raincoat and wallet and phone and be hands-free most of the time.

What a wonderful coat! The pattern is amazing and I like the contrast with the stripes on the dress. Love the zany tights!

I love me a bit of Welsh Tweed and how fabulous for it to have travelled halfway around the world, too!
It looks splendid with the yellow tights and rather ladylike handbag.
I get my revenge on Jon when we're in India, I never carry a bag then so he's in total control!
Love you!

I hope the skirt is luckier than the bag you made to go round the world, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I do carry my man wallet and general crap in my bag, lol.

I am glad my hubby doesn't carry much with him. :) He puts everything in his coat or pants. But that doesn't stop me for taking a big handbag. :)
Love your snake-skin bag. It is cute. I have to use mine much more then I do now. Your coat is gorgeous. Love the print.
That neclace you've got from Sarah is amazing. Diamonds are a girl best friend. :)

Two things:

I do not have a handbag - can't stand the things! I either travel lightly or my husband has bulgie pockets (that's the price he pays for loving me. ha!)

I have just discovered (after years of listening and singing along to it) that The Stranglers Golden Brown is about heroin.

Like your yellow tights x

I find a similar vintage coat (but it has a less beautiful print) and I love that you wear it with yellow, it really gives life to the brown and beige, I'm not surprised that Clare want to paint your outfits and shoes!
I'm very excited about the travelling yellow skirt and I'm next!!Can't wait to see your fabulous creation with it!
Love xxxx

Oh I think we are needing a G-based post, with the main bulge, the patchwork man bag, and a pimptastic outfit! Please... For me????!
Love your Welsh tapestry coat, and the yellow tights and matching bow are a little burst of sunshine for us Brits suffering the winter blues.
Sometimes a gal needs a dainty bag and her man just has to fend for himself. I never go out without a bag either, can't imagine it, I'd feel naked!
Can't wait for your travelling yellow skirt post, and SQUEEEE indeed to loveliness from our sassy Sarah!

I have a purse that is very similar to yours. I haven't used it since I bought it. I tend to buy purses before I have an outfit for them.

You can really never go wrong with Welsh tweed, I never knew what it was until I started reading Vix's blog, but now I adore it. The coat is fab, I need me some yellow tights though. Xx

Yellow tights! I love yellow... but I never wear it b/c it doesn't love me back. I'm looking forward to seeing the yellow skirt all the kids are talking about.

I'm super-jealous of your fab vintage purse!

As soon as I saw the print on that coat I suspected it was Welsh - I have a cape that is woven in Wales and the pattern is similar (different colour). Love the little handbag and the scarf. Very curious to see what you do with the yellow skirt. Can you please add my name to the list of future recipients?

Ermahgerd this is fabularse - I never wear brown because I always think it's so dull and frumpy - then I see you in an amazing outfit like this and I want a brown dress and yellow tights too!!!!!

Every layer and pattern is wonderful - why don't you have your own book on styling???

Love you more than raspberry licorice! Sarah xxx

Such a creative and well put together outfit. The color and texture combination is awesome! And yes, I agree with the others that the shoes are great! You wear the whole thing well, lovely lady.

Ah yes, the diminutive bag versus hauling your man's stuff around dilemma. I have experienced it as well.
Vix introduced me to Welsh tweed in Birmingham and now I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a pink/purple tweed poncho.
Brown and yellow is one of my favorite color combos - it takes me right back to 1972.
Love your shoes, and I love scarves worn as ties.
