Take what the water gave me

And it's out with one of my brand spanking "new" frocks!
I don't like to piss around, if I can possibly help it, when it comes to airing a new frock.
Unless I hang it up and promptly forget I have it, which has happened more than once!

And wouldn't you know it, I just happened to have a cardi and shoes that match perfectly!
It just makes me purr with matchy-matchy pleasure!

I'm thrilled that so many of us love Quentin Tarantino!
What is your favourite film of his?!
Mine is one he wrote, but didn't direct; "True Romance", and I also love "Jackie Brown" (starring the most splendid specimen of womanhood, and one of my favourite actresses, Pam Grier!), which he directed but didn't write!
That said, I am also crazy for the "Kill Bill" double.....ad nauseum!
The man is a genius!

Ooh I think I'm actually first for a change Helga! I love your new dress with those gorgeous earrings and necklace and the tights, the word for their pattern eludes me, I keep thinking tie dye but it's not that. I can't pick a favourite Quentin Tarantino film, I loved True Romance and the Kill Bill films, I think I liked Jackie Brown most for Pam Grier, I spent a while wanting to be her after seeing that film. And Pulp Fiction was great too, and Inglourious Basterds, it's really hard to choose. xx

Yeah I like 'Kill Bill' as a fave too!

Love the minty fresh colours in this outfit. So summery, so light! The hat is super cute too.

It's early morning here and all I need is the refreshing vision of a fabulous new frock and a wonderful matching hat!!! If I was in a Tarantino's film, I'll probabily point a gun at you and rob all your treasures..the necklace you made with the Fragonard print is stunning!!!
But I really can't do you no harm because I adore you!!!
I love Kill Bill too, but the first film that comes to my mind is Reservoir Dogs because there's Steve Buscemi in it and it's a great movie, I remember few lines from their conversation about Madonna and I found it brilliant!!
Jackie Brown was epic too, but I really enjoy all of them!
Have a wonderful week!!!!
Love xxxxxx

I just adored True Romance and wanted to be Alabama for sooo long. Am loving this outfit in all it's matchy-matchy glory. Such great colour combinations too.

We were just talking about QT films over the weekend. Pulp Fiction for me. My only "complaint" about his films is that they are overlong and I've got a short attention span - not the best combination. I've fallen asleep through Reservoir Dogs twice and have never seen the ear (is it?) bit. Beautiful minty dress and I love your necklace. xx

You always make me re-evaluate colour combos...i shall be rifling the wardrobe for mint and purple in the am. Looking lovely lass x

I went to see 'Pulp Fiction' at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in '94 and was a Tarantino convert thereafter. I had the biggest crush in Tim Roth & wanted to be his Honey Bunny.
Last week after admiring Miss Simmonds WI Punk outfit, I commented that the powdery pastels looked as if they would taste of lovehearts & parma violets, your ensemble gives me more of a Dolly Mixtures flavour...very yummy indeed!
Those tights are punkalicious and adding studs to pretty pastels adds a level of kickass.
Loads of love,
Jennie

Minty fresh! Love the colour combination with the purple tights. That necklace is absolutely beautiful - you are a clever thing! Why would you wait to wear a new dress!? Too much fun!

What a glorious outfit! I love the colours and those earrings are so pretty.

Oh I absolutely go SCHAAAAAAAAAAAWING for The Swing painting and to see it gracing your neck makes me go quite fluttery! Those tights - ARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH and the feathery HAT. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous darling!!!!. I passed out twice, yes twice, at the cinema while watching Reservoir Dogs, much to my disappointment. Jackie Brown is an incredibly under-rated and very, very special movie - it had me on the edge of my seat except for when she pulled out the old 70s vinyl and played it with the debt collector dude. Such a sweet love story - Robert DeNiro banging Bridget whatsherface at the kitchen bench - hilarious!! xoxoxo

Damn that Tarantino, he sold our nicknames: Hun Buns and Pumpkin. We forgave him, cause that Pulp Fiction movie was awesome.

Lovely outfit you're wearing.

Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killers are my favs and speak loudly from a favorite era in my lifespan too. Mainly due to the people I watched those movies with, now gone from this world. ;(
You look smashing in your lovely garden today. Love that minty blue color.

I've seen all his films except Reservoir Dogs. I really love them all!!! Special place in my heart for True Romance, though <3 I also like From Dusk Till Dawn (he wrote it, but didn't direct).
I LOVE those purple tights!! Such a pretty dress!

I think my favorite Tarantino film is From Dusk Til Dawn.

You look great. Love the combo of tulle and feathers on your hat. The fabric print is lovely too.

Nobody matches better, it never looks uniform-esque because there is always so much excitement in the mix. You do look edible, and that HAS to be a good thing. Identical answer to you re Tarantino, dare I admit Pulp Fiction didn't do much for me? Think I watched it to long after the hype and was expecting more. Quentin looks such a naughty and odd man, I like that - we need more such people.

Beautiful shoes, I'm all over mint after seeing you and Miss Simmonds rocking it.

Krista Gassib said...

Oh sweetheart you are channeling daiquiri ice cream in that beautiful number! Yum Yum! Everything is so matchy matchy and minty good. Looking at you just makes me hungry!'

Quentin really creeps me out but I do love his films. My fav is probably Pulp Fiction and I also LOVE True Romance!

I love your dress, and bag, and tights... everything!
You look so shining and beautiful! Kisses x x x x

Bella Q said...

His genius pales compared to yours! He is an original talent but he NEEDS TO STOP TRYING TO ACT! And just make the films. Better writer than anything in a way. I'm not a fan fan, but I've seen most of his movies. I'm the same way with Polanski, Werner Herzog, and Kubrick. I will watch all their movies, but feel critical and annoyed with them. But I was really impressed with Django. I gotta give him credit when credit is due.

BUT the winner is....that matchy matchy outfit and the hot babe wearing it.

Hey! I had that Fraggonard on my wall as a kid, believe it or not. I have no idea where I found it, but it hung by my bed. A miniature, but bigger that your necklace.
Totally forgot about that.

A new frock has to be worn immediately, I'm itching to get my Krista sun dresses on but I feel I may die of hypothermia!
That crazy hat looks glorious, I must show this picture to the jumble sale ladies who pissed themselves with laughter when I bought it and prove how amazing it is.
Jackie Brown & Pulp Fiction for me!
Love ya! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So glad you took your lovely new frock out for a spin this quickly. I know that feeling of forgetting you bought something. But then you get to feel happy when you 'discover' it for a second time.

You look like expensive candy that children can't afford. I'm so miserably sensible that I found Tarantinos movies to violent (I do understand if you all have to vomit now because I'm mrs Reasonable), but I do like that those who have been victims always get revenge in Tarantinos movies. Otherwise I prefer two and a half hour long French movies where it's quiet in a minute between each sentence, or the opposite, early Woody Allen talkative movies ... But Pam Grier - of course! And Uma Thurman!

Ulla-Marie Nilsson said...

And I have to agree with Frocktasia about Tim Rooth and with miss Simmonds about minty matchy matchy! Lovely!
