Same old thing in brand new drag

A few little joys in my world...

I am thrilled to bits to have been Spygirled!
SQUEE! Thanks, Anne!
I especially like how I look so tall and sleek....

Remember this nest of tables I opshopped not too long ago?!

Well, look at them now!

G and I stole an idea from our friend Jo and redecorated them!
The littlest one needs a little repair before it gets the treatment, but these two are looking divoon!
I had fancied covering them with leopard print, but couldn't find any.
This hologram red is pretty fabularse, though.
It's what we call contact, a stick on usually used for covering schoolbooks, amongst other things, and comes as a small roll.
Bloody useful, is what it is!

From drab to fab!

I enjoyed my Saturday afternoon's kitchen efforts looking resplendent in their retro dishes!
An onion/roasted pepper/anchovy tart and a rice salad.

My pookies, battling it out for prime snuggle position.
Humpers got annoyed with PeePee trying to push him off, so he sat on her!!!
All the better to schmooch his little face into my booboids.
Humpers has a bit of a thing for me at the moment, and PeePee is jealous.
She does the best chronic bitchface.

Ahhhhhh.

Bloody fabulous! I adore that you've been Spygirled!!
Very impressed with your tables re vamps...glitzy. Impressed with your nosh too, I always think good food is best served in retro dishes.
Huge respect to Peepee's chronic bitchface. I wish I could do it with that much conviction.

Ah, pookies amongst your boobicles, how cute. There's only just room aboard. Wonderful to be so popular.

Your culinary treats look scrumptious. I have the exact same dish as you have your rice salad in!

The little nest of tables are gorgeous and so are you in that work of art. xxx

Ooh, much loveliness!
Anne's picture of you is wonderful - she's been ever so busy, there are Spygirl portraits springing up on blogs everywhere! Don't you look elegant?
The table transformation is fabulous. Is contact what we Brits would call sticky back plastic? Weel, those of us who are old enough to have watched Blue Peter in the 1960s or 70s... Who knew it could look so groovy?
The pic of the cats is priceless! Look at PeePee's grumpy face, while Humpers sits on her and snuggles into that magnificent bosom! Darlings - all three of you! LOVE! xxxxxx

I love your pyrex dishes - I have collected 4 so far and use them all the time.
The nest of tables is divine - I have covered boxes with the same contact in gold, but never thought of using it for furniture.
And PeePee's bitchface is classic!

I love the tables, sometimes too much vintage wood can be a bit dark and oppressive in a room, which they are certainly not now lol

Sticky-backed plastic tables - how bloody marvellous! Gilbert's kitchen is decked out in leopard print but I'm very taken with the glittery fabulous of the holographic effect!
PeePee and Humph are hilarious, who could blame them for some booboid snuggles. If I were there I'd join them!
I'm marvelling at your splendid array of Taschen books and love Anne's Spygirl art of you, that outfit was definitely worthy of immortalising!
Love you!

Aww I wish i had adorable cats to snuggle on my lap! My 3 boxer dogs do this but despite what they think they are not lap dogs as they weigh 30-40kgs each! i still let them pile on top of me tho. Btw that spygirl pic - spitting image, amazing!

Such shiny prettiness...Sticky holograms on any surface is fabulous...Your kitties are the the cuddliest and your stack of books make me green with envy, I haven't read something awesome in a while. The Helga-art piece is awesome xxx

So much awesome!! I am so envious of you fab dames that have been "Spygirled". The colours bold, just like her subjects!

When I was growing up, Contact was called "Mac Tac" and you could stick it on kitchen cupboards, etc. I don't think they had hologram red back then. Those tables are super snazzy now!

Love the snuggling kitties photo.

Your spygirl painting is fab! Those nesting tables look very cool! We call it contact paper here too. In my first shop I had a spot about a foot wide behind the racks so I put the same paper in lime there, I loved it, so happy! Yummies, I just ate and now I'm hungry again! Your pookies are too cute. Calliope isn't a cuddly type ): well she is when SHE decides she wants to cuddle. But she's still a teenager so I'll break her in slowly. I do have Fiona the Westie who is my biggest fan, follows me everywhere and always wants to be by or on me, so I'm loved by one animal in the house! I have a surprise I will post on FB for you tonight or tomorrow, depending how well I hold up with this damn cornea problem (the meds make me sick.) XXX

Wonderful psych(?)decor. But the decor would be nothing without you, your man and your cats in the midst of the furnitures. If I could draw - I would use your looks as an inspiration!

What a clever idea for the tables :) I love how cats don't seem to care if there's already someone or something where they want to be, they'll sit there regardless. I once found myself with three dogs nestled around my feet and three cats (one heavily pregnant) on my lap when visiting a friend of Andy's down in Cornwall xxx

joyatri said...

That Anne is so talented. Any of your outfits would make wonderful fashion illustrations, but I do love this color combination.
Hologram contact paper (that's what we call it, too)? Who'd a thunk it? Normally it's all twee checks and prints for lining kitchen cabinets here. But it certainly amps up the fabulousness of those stacking table.
Your pookies are the cutest, smooshy face and all.

I like the way you've pimped your table, but what I like most is the delicious food.

Penny-Rose said...

The coffee table set is fabulous, but I have to tell you that the cat photo made me smile from side to side, its such a great photo. I just love it how they are jostling for position on your lap. Neither of my cats are really lap cats, and yet there is nothing like the love of cat.
