You keep me searching for a heart of gold

I've been laid low with a headcold, dammit.
Too snotty to be able to wear's a crying shame, I tell you.
Still, a couple of days wallowing in bed and about the house, draped in self pity, didn't do me too much harm.
I got quite productive, and in between blowing my snout I made curtains for our french doors and most of a frock, all the while indulging in a Food TV marathon.
I was also extremely cheered by the arrival of a couple of Parcels of Joy, from Louise and the sweetest Squirrel...a frock from the latter will be gracing my bod at our gig tonight!
Thank you, darlings!
Such perfect timing, and o so LOVELY!

You can see G's handiwork behind me; that lime green used to be a forest green.
I like it a lot.
He just needs a little bit more fine weather to finish.

I picked up these soft as a baby's bum leather shoes off Trade Me for $5!
I hate to admit it, but I feel the need for slightly more comfortable shoes....only sometimes, like when I might be walking a lot....

Frock-curtain couture! Made it myself!
I was blithering about this fabric some posts back, only at the time I thought it was a black background. Turns out it's chocolate brown!
Red cardi-opshopped
Biscuity coloured cardi-60's, opshopped
Tights-Trade Me
Earrings-the sexacious Desiree
Flower-made by a lovely friend

In other news, I think we officially have a collection of retro icebuckets...3 is a collection, right?!
G picked this golden delight up last weekend, it's so shimmery, it makes me want to drink glitzy golden hued cocktails whilst wearing something luridly lurex...
So what else is new?!

You are looking so darned cute in these last couple of outfit posts. Poor poorly Helga, I'm glad you are feeling a little bit better. Snotty noses get painful once they've been mopped several hundred times.

I love your curtain couture, that fabric is gorgeous and the shape of the dress with that full skirt is perfect on you. You look so adorable with all your knitwear. Your little red shiny T-bar shoes take me back years to the 1970s when me and my sisters wore them.

In other news, I love your ebony lady lamp and shade with that ric-rac trim and your icebucket makes me want drinkies too. And it's only breakfast time here! Get totally well soon. xxxxx

This means WAR, Freckleface! You and me, behind the bus stop at three o'clock!

My love! The frock is DAVAAAHN of course, and the shoes - well, you know, I am warning you well in advance that bringing them to Helgastock2013 in SIXTEEN SLEEPS is most definitely a Very Bad Idea and I will steal them, like the fiend that I am, as quick as look at them.

The house is looking splendider by the day - I do love when G gets all manly with tools and such.

You and me both, boogery, snotty, delicious and delightful. Fortunately, we are so fucking fabulous that bit of snot can't hold us back.

Love you more than THAT GLORIOUS FROCK!

I'm with you on the comfy shoes thing. Honestly - I can't believe the things I used to wear, all in the name of being magnificent.. Now I will admire those shoes when they are OFF my feet, mostly!!!

Great colour on the whare..

Yes my John is an avid ice bucket enthusiast. I believe we have a little collection now too. Is it a manly thing or what?! Why so blokes love ice buckets so?
That is a spectacular covetable shimmery ice bucket indeed.

Love the frock. Sorry about the snot. Change of season is always the time for such things, in my experience.. Good on you for managing a wee photo shoot, still looking glorious despite the lack of lipstick.

You sick too? Poor Helga-roo! I am amazed at how productive you've managed to be, I've been basically keeping myself alive for a week and nothing else. You look marvellous in these shades of brown with red, fantastic shoes. Lovely paint work, G! And one doesn't ever want to go short of ice, right? Feel better soon, dolly!

Oh darling, snotty badness is no fun at all! At least you have had sewing and TV to see you through, and now you are frocked up and delicious! I love your dress, you are an Autumnal Queen. Such cute shoes, have they got a little heel or wedge? I need some like that, I want a wee bit of lift but can't cope with heels all the time, I swear my feet are ageing faster than the rest of me. (That may be wishful thinking, of course, and the whole lot is really going to pot!)
Hope you ROCKED that gig, darling - bet you did! xxxxxx

I know that snotty feeling, had it meself last week, ugh! Also can identify with the need for comfy shoes sometimes but I refuse to believe that it has anything to do with getting old!
Fab frock btw, clever you. I did nothing more productive than flop on the sofa and watch trash tv when I was full of cold.

That curtain couture dress is a dream and I'm dying over those sandals, they remind me of a Clarks' pair I had as a child, only with added sex!
Love you!
