Promise to love me for ever more

Well.
G and I just had a hell of a  fabularse weekend in Wellington!
Amongst other things, we spent Saturday in some mighty fine company, having brunch, checking out a rummage sale, and going to Vintage-Orama!
From left: Ria, G, my friend Brenda, moi and Trees!

Naturally, I started my Saturday with a Bloody Mary.
Doesn't everyone?!

Then we all got excited about our splendid brunch choices!

There were slim pickings at the rummage sale.

I met Aimee, the organiser of Vintage-Orama outside the venue, which happened to be Wellington High School!
No spotty schoolboys in sight, however.
Just as well.
At my age....

I wore:
Frock-vintage Osti, opshopped
Coat-60's, opshopped
Hat-60's, opshopped
Tights-retail
Shoes-Trade Me
Handbag-60's Rex, from my G
Earrings-the sexacious Desiree
White beads-opshopped
Sunglasses-Catch a Thief

Aimee is a pretty damned foxy chick, so I schmoozed right on up to her...

Now, this is a smuggins face-G scored himself a Girl Guide badge...

Sweetheart Christine of The Vintage Cupboard had come up from Christchurch for the day!

Doing my best Queenly tea drinking pose...I was starting to flag about now, all the excitement just wore me out!
If there'd been booze I suspect I would have lasted longer!

I bought this 70's does 30's styled maxi!

There were some sexacious wenches doing a bit of a show....

....spot G in front, inspecting their moves!

We ladies were far more discreet...

I think G enjoyed the show!

And then I had to go and have a lie down to recover.
It seems darling Claire has the same reaction to lots of excitement and schmoozing!

It was all jolly super, and I'm gagging for another bash at all Wellington has to offer!
Next time I might just need to take along a hipflask!

What a totally fab-u-larse weekend. Rummaging in jumble, great grub, vintage loveliness and cavorting ladies...what's not to love?
Your hat is fabulous, I remember my Auntie Connie wearing one similar, like you, she could tell some stories! I love how these vintage outfits bring back memories of dearly departed.

How many photos of the dress form wear that coat did you take? I want that freaking spotted coat! I've been wanting on for year, guess I should have snatched that one off the drunk girl back in 1980!

Wowsers!
What a weekend, gorgeous wenches, fabulous food and vintage porn galore. So jealous, wish I could have teleported myself and joined the party.
Bloody Marys and Helga's trademark red, white and blue taking Wellington by storm. I'm not surprised you need a lie-down. All that schmoozing is jolly hard work!
G looks very pleased with himself, bless him!!!
A conductor's hat and a leopard coat, I have both and never thought of wearing them together - the dummy has inspired me!!!
Love you! xxxxxxxxxxxx

I envy you, I lived in Wellington for four years in the early 1970s - the most beautiful city in the world - and I've seen a few.

Oh yes, a hip flask would be an excellent idea! I like the thought of you looking all regal and ladylike, but swigging hard liquor all day long!
Brunch looked delicious, what a fabulous gang of beauties you are, no wonder G looks happy. He's so funny, enjoying the ladies on stage right up close!
How lovely to meet up with Trees again, and Ria and Brenda. The Vintage-orama looks great. Nice frock you scored too, though I am seriously distracted by the gorgeousness of your queenly red, white and blue ensemble, you look divine, darling! I can definitely see you rocking the peaked cap and leopard print too!
Schmoozing IS exhausting. But you do it with style! xxxxx

My my! Nobody does red, white and blue like you do, Helga Regina! :) You look drop dead amazing in that hat, just a cut above.

That brunch menu is too good to be true, I'd be dithering all over the place trying to choose between all the amazing things on offer. Was that shakshuka the lady with the lilac hair had? My favourite.

G looks like a kid in a sweet shop! So funny, his little face all lit up and excited. Glad you had such fun and got back safe and sound, eventually! Have a lovely week my dear. xxxx

Argh I'm so sorry I didn't make it! I ended up spending the weekend in bed very sick, watching the Jurassic Park movies and being tended to by poor Jack. I am still feeling a bit under the weather :( I'm glad you ladies had a great time, and please do return to Wellington again, at which point I will hopefully be in much better health. xo

I damn near swallowed my tongue when I saw that spotted coat; HOW did you leave such a treasure behind? I would have spent all my money at once on that coat.

NZ food is soooooooooo much more delish, looking at their version of Eggs Benedict. Yum! And also amused at how similar town/village halls in the UK and NZ are! Looks like you could be over here - shame you're not. I'd have some regal tea time with you. And a few good squeezes. I love those pretty wicker bags! Definitely looks like a great place to rummage. ooh er. xxxxxxxx
