The sun that makes the day, that lights the way

Pix by Cousin Phil!

On Saturday morning, feeling exceptionally seedy from a rampant Flange practice the night before, Cousin Phil and I popped down the road to a vintage sale.
It was literally around the corner, and was a young lass and her Mother clearing out loads of vintage they'd been collecting for years.....and they've got so much that there'll be another day...or two...to snap up some goodies!
Despite attempting some restraint in the aftermath of Melbourne, I still came home with a few choice items...

The wrought iron thingy in my hand is a shelf sort of thing; G and I are fond of a bit of wrought iron. We've got  a couple of little glass topped tables that he has scrubbed up and painted shiney silver, and with the same treatment this will look splendid.

I ended up double bagging it after scoring this perfect deep blue vanity case, also satisfying my utmost matchy matchy desires.

Wearing:
Square dance frock-Retropolitan
Petticoat-Ecetera Vintage
Coat-50's, Two Squirrels
Tights-retail
Shoes-retail
Handbag-a Rex, opshopped
Sunglasses-Catch a Thief
Earrings-the sexacious Desiree
Skull beads-gift from G
Red beads-from the lovely Sue
Bow belt-from my gorgeous Sarah

I was strutting about for Phil, posing away, as comes naturally, when an elderly lady stuck her head out to enquire as to what we were up to....after being assured that we were just weird, as opposed to WEIRD, (her words!) she steered me towards a feijoa tree and helped me gather some of the delectable delights, all the while regaling us with all manner of information and stories.....I think she was just lonely and in need of a chat.

One of the two hats I just bought was a perfect carrier.

That's the other hat, the deep blue with the netting, and there's also a 50's Simplicity sewing book and two frocks.

Sadly, the pink floral frock does not fit my booboids, ( it'll go to someone I love) but the red and pink floral one most certainly does!
I was pretty happy with my loot.....and then I had to go to bed for a few hours to get over it all!

My Eloieeeeeeeeeeeese!
You're rocking your favourite colour combo once again. I adore those sunnies and those 2 vanity cases. The light in these shots is perfect. Flange is a perfect band name. I had a friend who suggested we call our all girl band Fadge. The band never happened, just something we talked about a lot without actually bothering to practise our instruments! xxxx

Ahhhhh long reign the Queen of red & blue! Gorgeous frock, beautiful coat, but I'm squeeing over the double bag action. The new blue case is divine! What better way to cure a hangover then with some frock action. Xx

Look at you in your matchy, matchy glory.
What better cure for dubious hangovery type feelings. Wonderful scores. X

That vanity case is an uncanny match for your handbag, and you got lots of other lovely finds too Helga, how sad that the pink dress doesn't fit, it's gorgeous material, but the red dress is a beauty too! I like the thought of you having a chat with that old lady and maybe cheering up her day. xx

How can you look so delectably pretty after a night on the ale? You are an inspiration to us all!
Loving the mitchy matchy brilliance and your awesome scores. How sweet of you to pass on the boob busting frock to a deserving case, too!
That old lady sounds a sweetheart, thanks for educating me on feijoas, too!
Love you! xxxxxxx

I can't even begin - how do you look this stunning after a big night out. Helga with a hangover is still hopelessly fabulous! I love that the old lady was able to determine you guys were just weird (the non-threatening kind) and not WEIRD (the scary kind). Guess what - we get to hang out again this Saturday! I checked with Ria before and she is still keen for fun hanging out times....wheee...

I love these sunny photoshoot, you managed to look fabulous even the morning after a gig!! Probabily the secret is wearing something fabulous so you feel already better and beautiful and going to a vintage sale cheers everyone up! The vanity case, the hats and the frocks are wonderful, the Feijoa fruits sound nice and fresh, I'd love to taste them!!
Love xxxxxxxxx

Look at you frolicking in the sun with a hangover - that's not what I look like the morning after the night before, I can tell you!
I also think of red, white and blue as Queen Helga's colours, and that coat has a rather regal look about it. How perfect to find a blue vanity case bought another one myself today...) and the frocks look gorgeous.
The feijoa - never heard of them before - look beautiful in your hat!
Excellent work - good shopping, and kindly chat to a lonely neighbour, you are like Mother Theresa! xxxxx

I am glad to see you are revived after your unfortunate mishap with the alcodrops. They can be vicious. There is nothing like a little bit of what you fancy to make one feel better, and if you had to purchase one or two things, it was in the interest of renewed good health. Nobody decent could possibly judge you for that.

Like the look of those antipodean guava thingies. What did you do with them?

I love Vix's description of that boob busting dress. Classic. Hope you are feeling so much better now. xxxxx

Naughty flasher! Give us a kiss, said like some drunken slobbery guy, which would be me, give us a kiss. Lovely scores. How lovely that the carrier you bought is also a handy bag for your other treasures. Plus, it has lovely orange lining. Meant to be.

Fab scores, you weirdo! Posing in public? Who does that, anyway? I loove your blue coat, I think you always look striking in blue (and green) because of your lovely red hair.

I SWEAR I commented on this DAYS ago but I suspect I commented OUT LOUD and thought that somehow that would translate into an actual comment... the technology can't keep up with me!

Darling, you are MAGNIFICENT. Nobody could ever tell than you had been HEAVING only hours prior... you are a rockstar like no other.

You are glorious in that beautiful outfit - I WOULD SELL MY SOUL FOR THAT COAT!!!!! (if I had one). Your sunnies are splendid - I'm kicking myself for not getting the red!

Feijoa were my Mama's faves - and yay for cousin Phil's wonderful paparazzi skills.

Love you more than sunny Saturday morning vintage garage sale treasures!
