Through the driving rain, colours run in veins

Despite the greyness, Spring is most certainly just around the corner!
It's getting a little lighter, it's been warmer, bulbs are popping out and I am getting the urge to eat Mexican food and quaff margaritas in vast quantities!
(I can't bear not having avocados in Winter, so I don't eat as much Mexican food as I would like...it's just not quite right without avocado, is it?!)
Bring it on!

Necklace-from darling Kristalicious
Brooch-from sweetheart Bella

Quacks!
There'll be quacklets zipping around before you know it!
We have, in fact, seen some very early ones peeping about on the river!
We've also seen paradise ducks pairing up; we love watching their quacks grow. They crap all over the paths by the river and generally act adorably.

Frock-made it myself with fabric from Mexico
Coat-Camberwell Markets, Melbourne
Cardi-opshopped
Tights-retail
Shoes-Trade Me
Vanity case-60's, a market
Beret-opshopped
Pashmina-Istanbul
Earrings-from my sistercousinwife Sarah
Gloves-60's, opshopped...or were they a gift?! Hmmmmmmm...

I get terribly lazy with my hair when I'm shoving a hat on my head everyday! Not even sure I brushed it....

Hello!
Is it moi you're looking for?!

Mmmmmm Mexican! You look a bit hot and spicy yourself in those gorgeous warm colours! Love the orange and red together. What a beautiful spot for pics with all the quacks in the background. XXX

Yes, darling it is! Looking all snuggly in that delicious tiger coat with that blast of orange. What else could I possibly be looking for?

Quacks and Quacklets, so adorable, all soft and fluffy, like you in that coat! Only obviously you behave yourself better on the paths. ;)

Mexican food, yum. Unbrushed hair, it's my new policy - gives it better volume! Have a gorgeous weekend! xxxxx

Oh no, what happened? My Dad is toying with the idea of visiting NZ and I told him there is ALWAYS blue sky in your pics. (unlike here where we have interminably grey skies)
I long to see the sunlight in your hair...and who cares if it's unbrushed?

That COAT is to DIE FOR. And Advocados? Why, they are ripe just now; don't they import them into NZ? Afeter all, we import them HERE! I just cut up one that was from Peru! Don't they have them in indonesia? I've heard they make a milkshake with chocolate syrup ice cream- and advocado all whizzed up together!

My gawd, you know how to mix colours. Honestly, red, orange and brown should look fucking hideous but somehow you do some voodoo and it is EXQUISITE!

This is one of my all time fave frocks - you KNOW how I feel about that coat and also ducklings, duck shit and avocados. ALL FAVOURITES. Let's write a song about them!

Love you more than Indonesian avocado Peruvian milkshakes,

I think ducks are my favourite birds of all, they are so cute in every way, and you're looking gorgeous as ever Helga, you have such a great eye for what colours will work together, and make really unusual combinations work brilliantly. It makes me wonder, do your artistic talents include painting as well as singing? Mexican food sounds so yummy too, I love avocados but I've never had really good proper Mexican food, just packet enchiladas and fajitas and suchlike, so would love to taste it made properly one day. xx

Mexican food with no avocado, it's nearly not worth living, they are a must.

Well, hello - of COURSE it is, who else would I be looking for? Let me start by saying - I love you, especially in orange. And in orange and red, you are even hotter than a fiery chilli, you look just fabulous. That is such a bright and gorgeous frock, I love it.
Pah, who needs avocados and brushed hair when they have ducks and ducklings and leopard print snuggliness, and a bosom of magnificent proportions?
Love you! xxxxxxx

That colour combo totally rocks, a great diversionary tactic when one's hair is feeling a tad skanky.
I haven't had an avocado in months, I think I might have to pick one up in town and disgust Jon by guzzling it in front of him.
Spring!Yay! Love you! xxxx

Forest City Fashionista said...

I love the mix of those fiery Mexican colours with the Leopard. I always like the photos of you with your hair down. You are moving towards Spring (I love watching the baby ducklings too!) and we are already feeling like fall. I'm actually looking forward to being able to layer!
