I had a rare really good day at the opshops on Friday, and I only hit 2 of them!
First call scored me this divoon caramel coloured faux fur coat and a royal blue wool cape with faux fur collar....and a sweet polka dot scarf....obviously I need more coats, capes, scarves, so this is a good thing!!
My second stop was more fruitful, and Humpers agrees...
A piece of barkcloth big enough for a frock (whenever I eventually get around to making another frock....), a vinyl snakeskin print purse, which will be my new lipstick purse, a 70's "beaded" purse, an immaculate 70's "beaded" bag, a blue case, a dear wee little 70's pot and.....2 60's Rex handbags!!!!
(I didn't recognise the black one as a Rex, I just happened to open it and see the label!)
I nearly peed myself!
And, best of all, the raddled old dude behind the counter gave it all to me for half price!
Victory is mine!
Just to help you calm down, here are the first of our cactus flowers for the season...
And then, thanks to my darling Sue's ninja Trade Me skills, I scored this gorgeous early 60's (?) frock and jacket, with matching belt, no less!
Cousin Phil's Mama tells me a two piece like this was called an ensemble.
And this dear little case!
I was fair salivating over these, and was rather excited to win the auctions!
I'm sure Ron will be pleased his old bowling bag is going to get some good use as a ladies handbag!
I had also, a couple of weeks ago, picked up these sweet brooches at my local St Vinnies.
I think the glitzy yellow on the right and the pink on the left could be as early as 60's, but the central bottom is likely delightfully 80's, I think, but the starry one at top seems older.
I'm pretty useless at dating jewellery!
But there's something about that setting...what ever the case, it looks rather Maharaja blingtastic on my 60's turban!
