This limbo is no place to be a digit in another space

We've got a new front door!
Our old toilet glass French doors were getting rather rickety, so G picked up a quite modern, large front door with double glazed windows either side off Trade Me for a song, and a couple of friends helped install it.
Once it's all painted up, and the framing is on it's going to look splendid!
It's ever so grown up to do things to one's house.
G has also almost finished putting in this new timber porch!
I do love it when he does manly things, with manly tools.
I think we're on a bit of a binge; last weekend I helped him unscrew our outdoor chairs and paint them red, the table will be done this weekend, and he also painted up a little glass topped wrought iron table we picked up in Oamaru. There's more things to go up on the wall in the lounge, and we've got a pile of fairy lights for the back deck.......YAY!
We're finally getting some decorative mojo back after the post earthquake wasteland!
There's even a bit of a building boom going on in the city!
Rock the hell on, I say.
(without the rolling, if you don't mind!)

Frock-70's, I reckon it was once a maxi, opshopped
Tights-opshopped (amazingly!)
Shoes-Trade Me
Handbag-70's, G found it in a 10c bin at an opshop with a broken strap!
Hairbow and vintage Oroton sunglasses-from my sistercousinwife
Gold beads-opshopped

It IS ever so grown up to do things to one's house. I love anything housey. That timber porch looks stunning, what a great job that man of yours has done. Oh yes, it will be great once those doors are painted up. Can't wait to see all the other bits you've been up to. We started our bedroom in March and it's still a half done mess. Our mojo left town and is off touring the countryside.

You look a treat in that frock with a little tease of petticoat showing and look! No coat. Looking forward to living a summer vicariously through you. xxxxxxx

I get ever so excited about grown-up housey things! I can't wait to see the fabulous front door or your red patio furniture. The porch is spectacular. I do love a handy man!
That dress is gorgeous, I love the empire line and the delicious hint of petticoat peeping out.
G's a DIY god and a bargain hunter to boot, he's a keeper!
Love you! xxxxxxxx

I usually don't like lime green, but you always look great in it, so I've begun to rethink my prejudice against it... Not sure I can bring myself to wear it though :)

I am beyond useless at all things housey (so is Simon) so I am IN AWE of you and G, getting your love nest all shipshape. A new door, timber porch, red chairs, new stuff on the walls, AND fairy lights - woohoo, party round at Helga and G's, everyone!
Manly, manly G with his power tools - does he wear a leather tool belt? Phhhooaaar! Bet you can't keep your hands off him!
Sumptuous frockage, darling, and luscious lime legs, love it/them/you! xxxxxxxxxx

men doing manly things with sharp electric things make me a little giddy! its fab to see results from grown up work (it's the only thing that spurs me on, Mr F is a little hazy on some things and paints like a monkey throwing shit!)
I love a little cheeky petticoat peeping through awesome frocks, most demure in a hot way, love the tights too! x x x

Your G is a very handy fella isn't he? I thought I noticed new deck in the pix and as I am pining for a back deck and can't seem to get my man to see the vital importance of it, I am VERY envious. That frock is a sweet heart but all I can look at is your gorgeous pins in those green tights. Stunning! XXX

My dream was always a traditional New Zealand house and for a short time we lived in one in Wellington. However, now we live in a lovely, lovely 1930s bungalow in Chichester and it may be brick but is not a million miles away from those Kiwi houses I dreamed about.

Bye the way dear, it's snowing down south!

It does feel very grownup to make repairs/upgrades to your home. Sounds like a good deal on the door (with double-glazed windows no less). I find it very sexy when men get all "Bob the Builder" and get out the tools (no double entendre intended).

Yay for Trademe, and for being able to do things to the house in the warm weather. I like the sound of the red chars and table, so much more exciting than most outdoor furniture. Op-shopped tights are a rarity and ones that fit are precious, it was clearly hosiery karma when you encountered this lime green pair. I have been reading about your neighbours via Facebook and I hope these horrible people have been removed by aliens and been replaced with kitsch flamingoes and a hot tub. Have a great weekend. xxx

It just never crosses my mind to do home upgrades and revamping. I just groan and shake my head at the loose screws and peeling paint and do nothing about it but complain. It's good to have a thoughtful manly man!
