Now I'm living on the edge of my nerves

I'm a little backwards.
This is last Friday....!!!

Found a couple of things at my local St Vinnies, this divoon heavy glass cocktail shaker was one!
I think it's early 60's. The Senorita reminds me of Spanish tat lovers Vix and Tania!!

I wore:
Frock-from my darling sistercousinwife!
(30 sleeps 'til Helgastock 2014!!!)
Jacket-from my mate Nix
Belt-opshopped
Tights-retail
Shoes-online
Handbag-60's vinyltastic, opshopped
Scarf-60's, opshopped
Scarf ring-60's, from a sweet little vintage shop by the side of the road between Oamaru and Timaru, I think
Flower-Alamagordo, New Mexico
Sunglasses-Catch a Thief

It started raining, see the spots on my handbag!
That was nothing, though.
Late Sunday it started raining in biblical proportions, and it didn't let up until Wednesday afternoon...causing what they call a "one in 100 year flood".
We were able to get to and from work with no problem, and had no issues, but many were stranded, without power, and had knee deep water in their houses. Due to the earthquakes 3 years ago, much of our stormwater drains are still under repair, and any areas around the river have dropped significantly, making them prone.
Bloody hell!
I've never seen rain like it!

Anyway.

This vinyltastic overnight bag was my other find.
I'm obsessed with thick vinyl.
Amongst other things......

X

Flooding can be devastating. I'm glad you didn't get the worst of it chez toi.

I always love your shoes and tights.

Fabularse Helga-esque classic combo of red, white and blue! Queenie would be proud! Bloody hell, sounds like you're having our rain. Isn't it scary? I'd never seen the like!
Tania and I will be over later, you can shake the cocktails and we'll shake our maracas!
Love you! xxxxxxxx

Excellent colours, madam! Gorgeous frock, always love your denim coat, and the scarf and scarf ring are the perfect finishing touch.
Ugh, the torrential rain and flooding sounds a nightmare. I feel so sorry for the people whose homes have been trashed. It's been the same here, in some areas.
Stay dry, like your martinis, darling! (Mine's a daiquiri, by the way - adore that cocktail shaker!) xxxxx

The weather these days is just so scary. Don't know how anyone can doubt climate change. So many people have really felt the misery this year. It really makes you count your blessings when you are exempt. Ooh i love it that you have joined The Spanish Tat Gang. Let's have a cocktail to celebrate! In fact let's play drinking games and be totally outrageous! :) You rock the red, white and blue in such a queenly fashion that I think you need to repatriate to the UK. After helgastock! Xxxxxxxxx

Love your outfit ... very patriotic colour scheme.
That cocktail shaker is perfect ... must be for later in the night when you can no longer remember the recipes.
Heard about your rain on the news ... glad you weren't badly effected.

Stunning!
My son brought around a very similar cocktail shaker last weekend, only in plastic. Probably safer while testing all of the recipes!

That shaker is to die for - have you already tried every recipe on it? I would! Speaking of...there's a bottle of wine with my name on it, ha.

Yikes, re: the rain. I think our climate here on the West Coast of Canada is very similar to yours. It rains here...a lot.

I adore old bar wear, and one with recipes....perfect.

It rains like that here all the time, but it only last about half an hour.

I always love your red-n-blue combos!
And, I love thick vinyl too---the 70s did it the best. My brother found one of those 70s thick vinyl shoulder bags with a green plaid inset. So jealous!
Couldn't get him to give it to me :)

All this bloody rain! its been raining for about 3 weeks in Sydney mixed with what should have been a heatwave and its been very sticky, laziness inducing heat. i didn't hear about it flooding in NZ! You guys never get any luck. I hope your treasure trove of a house was safe though
