Got to give up life in this netherworld; gonna go up to where the air is stale

Yep, still doing the hair.
You'll likely get sick of it, but too bad!
(I'm pretty sure I will too, so a 3 week holiday in Indonesia next month will be a welcome break from the cold weather)

Square dance frock-Etsy
Jacket (altered by moi), wooden beads and beret-from my darling sistercousinwifey
Belt-free bin at opshop
60's vanity case-a market
Sunglasses-Catch a Thief
Earring-from the sexacious Desiree
Brooch-60's, Camberwell Markets

G snuck up on me whilst I was tackling a toile of a frock from a pattern darling Claire gave me.
I managed to lose a pattern piece, so I made up a new one, and then I realised that the back skirt pieces, being cut on the bias, ruined the lovely pattern of the sheet I'm using!
Despite it being a toile, or sample, I still expect to be able to wear it.
Waste not, want not, as they say.
(Just who the bloody hell are "they"?!)
I think I'll just do a gathered skirt and be done with it.
Another day. I also don't have an appropriate bloody zip.

Um, yeah, the chaos of my sewing/dressing room, aka The Boudoir.....crap for miles....

So I decided to make a new bodice pattern for another frock, with Peepers assistance.
(and a bit of rumpled newsprint)
She gets quite bitey and frisky when I'm fiddling about with paper and patterns!!
Hardest bit is keeping her away from the pins.
Bless her little paws and sharp teeth!!!

Ooh you look lovely in pink and red! Loving the sneaky shots of you sewing (is that a cheeky cocktail I spy?!)

Look forward to seeing the end result! x

Well don't you look the stone cold fox in your boudoir making your frock? I want a cutting table like yours, much better for resting your wine on than the lounge floor! Look at Peepers, so adorable.
That dress is gorgeous and I adore your hair like that,. I'll never get bored!
Hooray for sunshine holidays when its bastard freezing. You lucky thing.
Love you! xxxxxxxx

Mmmmmmmm pink and red!!!! Very nice. Excellent cutting table, and how helpful was Peepers?

In one of those pics you're holding out your hand like you're wondering where your glass has gone, and there it is a couple of shots later, ha! Also, I see you're matching the locations again in that splendid red.

The problem with peeping at the fascinating treasures one glimpses in blog backgrounds is: One cannot politely inquire about an item without tripping over one's nose.

But since you actually invite questions, I'll ask -- please, what is that black and white frock with the oh,dear, it is! a black cross on the bosom?

That red and pink!!

BTW the boudoir is so not messy... You should see mine! Terrifying!

Oh I'm not bored with that delightful hair-do, love, not at all - it's beautiful! And so is the pink gingham with red combination, I am drooling over those sandals, vanity case, and your cheeky beret!
Look at you, hard at work seamstressing away, all professional-like with a cutting table! I'm like Vix, do my cutting on the floor, with cats sitting on everything... That fabric looks gorgeous.
Your holiday sounds fabulous, bet you can't WAIT! Love yooooou! xxxxx

The hair is gorgeous and so is the pink dress!

freckleface said...

Nope, not bored yet. If anything, I want to be your hair twin! I love the fact that you're sewing in a beret. How old school glam can you get? Very, apparently. It reminds me of pics of Q's mum. With five children she was the epitome of style - fabulous suits and coats in the park pushing swings. Everything about your outfit is delicious and as for that sewing room, you have everything including an accessory cat! Lucky ducky! Now what's this about Indonesia? I bet you're slowly getting yourself into a total frenzy? Exciting!! Xxxxxxxxx

Oh, I love the photos of you at work. They are truly wonderful! And so is that beautiful pink dress; I love the combination of pink and red and you wear it beautifully!

OMG, serious sewing room envy! That cutting table, those drawers, an overlocker!!! Doesn't look like chaos to me, it looks fab!

I'll never get sick of what you do to your hair. Congrats on the upcoming vacation! That brooch is really cool - I'm not often drawn to them, but that one is special
And your workspace - GAHHH! I'm envious of it, especially that cutting table!

No I will never get tired of the hair. I love it! Peepers looks a bit demonic, ready to bite. Amazing that he is lying on a cushion and not the pattern paper!
Indonesia! Hooray for a vacation somewhere warm. Stay away from stale air, it gives one wind.

Oh how I love to see an artist at her craft. What an amazing studio. I'm glad you weren't defeated by the missing zip. Ooo yes, keep on with the hair. It's absolutely divine - makes me dream of romance and adventure. Your pink and red give me the shivers. Mmm.

Wow, look out, Indonesia! You will take them by storm, I predict. Love the jaunty beret, and don't you adore how kitties must bite and claw? Little buggers, but we love them.

Oh I do love a little sneak peak into someone's boudoir ... and yours looks particularly fascinating.
The pink and red looks gorgeous ... you certainly have a way with colour.

Your sewing room is fantastic (like a vintage museum)!

I knew pets would assume anything laid on the floor is theirs, but the sewing table as well? We really do just live in their world, as people say.

Where on earth you found bubblegum pink tights in adult sizes, I don't know but I'm envious. They're great, and pairing them with that frock is wonderful.

I love your "Boudoir" - it makes me happy to see other people surrounded by hats, purses, clothes, shoes, etc. I wish I had a whole room I could dedicate to my wardrobe, with room for a sewing machine and a kitty.

I'm excited for your trip - I don't think I've ever gone anywhere for three weeks! Indonesia will be an adventure, for you two, and for the locals ;)

You are positively glowing in pink, darling.
I am jealous of your boudoir/sewing area. My last crumb-snatcher is moving out in 2 months and seems offended when I'm in her room with a measuring tape... cannot wait to have a lady lair, nothing but frocks and sewing stuff and shoes and girl stuff.
Cats are such good helpers '__'
Indonesia sounds fantastic, what fun to look forward to!!

I will NEVER, EVER tire of that beautiful hairstyle. It certainly IS very 1930s, I can't stop gazing at the soft waves framing your lovely face darling woman. Oh my pinkness galore - heavenly, simply heavenly!!!! Peepers' claws reaching out to snatch a pin ... yes I can imagine it very well. The wonderful thing about sheets is there's so much fabric, it's always possible to fashion something wonderful if things go slightly haywire, plus more for other fab fripperies! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoo
