Hot metal and methadrine, I hear empire down....

I fecking LOVE my "new" corduroy trenchcoat!!!!
It makes me feel quite the show pony, for some reason, despite the sort of sedate beigey tan colour!

I'm frightfully behind; these pix are from last weekend!!
Can't believe it's 2 weeks since we got home from holiday....we've been hunkered down due to the cold, but had to go out last night as we had a gig at the infamous Wunderbar in Lyttleton.
It was a fabularse night, and we rocked it!
Got home at 2am, which is positively outrageous for me!
I am such a Cinderella these days!
I'm having a mimosa right now to get over it.

G always says not to look down...

But I had to organise my coat!

I have been doing a little bit of tidying in my poor overloaded boudoir.
These cases get a few things off the floor and out of baskets, and G has had the brilliant idea of moving all my shoes into such cases, which would look so much nicer than the plastic crates they currently live in....(as well as being strewn about the floor).......I am obsessed with cases in all shapes and forms....but they're useful, so I think that it's a virtuous and worthy obsession!

So much crap, so little space!
How do you lovelies manage all your splendid crap?!

I think you need to dedicate an entire room to being your wardrobe. How utterly fabulous would that be? With a two seater couch for G to rest on while you parade! How rock star would that be?

Magnificent! That coat is the most perfect cut and such a versatile colour. The SHOES are fucking FABULARSE and as always i am in awe of your perfect colour combos.

And i always love seeing pics of your wardrobe room. Mine is currently in a state of apocalyptic chaos and completely unusable! So I've been in my jarmies for a week.

Love your guts, Sarah xxxxx

I call the coat orange, not that loud tan colour. Orange! Beautiful! I love that huge collar. Cases, coats, shoes, frocks, we must have it all, but where to put it is a question I also have, particularly today whilst fumbling with laundry. Where are my laundry elves? Glad you had a great night out and your remedy sounds very herbal.

My splendid crap is not well managed at all, it's all over the shop and a bit of a nightmare. One day, I'll have a boudoir of sufficient proportions for my needs, one day...
On to you, my darling - LOVE the coat! I don't think it's remotely beige, as Mel says, it looks more orange to me, and the fuck-off collar and pouffy shoulders and the swingy drama of it make it totally badass and not in the least sedate! Fits beautifully too.
You found some awesome shoes on your holiday, look at those beauties. Gorgeous jewellery, and that looks like freshly hennaed hair to me, you Titian goddess you!
Here's to vintage cases, rocking gigs, staying up past your bedtime, and a cheeky mimosa - cheers, love! xxxxx

Gorgeous coat! Not sedate at all - very you!

Ok, we've just put in custom wardrobes - I have a whole friggin WALL and hubs has a wee corner. Still unpacking but I'm already slightly freaking out over how everything will fit!

Shoes are a constant challenge to store, aren't they? So will you have to climb up to get 'em? My prob is, if I can't see them, I won't wear them.

Xoxo

If anyone can make "tan" look exciting, then it's you Helga!

You can never have too many bags or boxes. I'm obsessed with them! I'm loving your headband, the buttons on the collar and the Stripey shoes...bam! It's always about the details with you. I call the coat dark yellow or gold. Definitely gold! I llose things at the back of my wardrobe and discover them again. It's fun! I'm easily amused :-D XO JJ

The shoes you purchased on holiday are beautiful (are there more yet to be seen?).

My crap is somewhat organised (the shoes have their own closet (heaven help me)but there is just too much of it. Time for a ruthless purge, but coats are so hard to part with (I would never part with that beauty you're wearing-love, love, love it).

I do like the idea of cases though-my hats are a true issue and those round boxes annoy me. Thanks for the idea.

Not beige! Molten honey? Whatever it's dubbed, the color blends perfectly with the bag and shoes.

Have no pix, alas, but once saw a stack of shoes subdued by popping each shoe into a large sock, then clipping the pairs together. Alas, my friend then realized she didn't know which shoes were in which socks...nor did I. (Yes, of course we were drinking red wine at the time.)

That coat looks gold to me. Which is ideal for your amazing hair.

It seems no matter the size of my closet, it is never large enough. I had thought about turning our guest room into a large closet for myself but then got turned off when I knew I had to walk all the way down the hallway to get dressed. LOL

The cut of that coat is so lovely with the shoes, bag, and blues, and vivid green. Sounds like you put on a smashing gig! Mimosa time will surely soothe everything, there there.

My splendid crap is not well-managed; one of our three wee bedrooms is our dressing room but the storage structures are all makeshift and old. I admire people with the energy to take on their "project lists!"

<3 <3 <3 SoM! What is this *manage* of which you speak? ;) I have a pile that is being bundled into tubs to store in the attic, because I can't bear to part with it but it needs to be house elsewhere so I can weed out the stuff I CAN toss. That coat is the fo'shizzle! Love the sleeve caps and the collar. Fabulous!

That's so weird, I was only thinking long time no see last night and then voila, there you are at the top of my dashboard with the very familiar lyrical poetry of the unique Von Eldritch. Good to see you looking so well. I know what you mean about lack of storage. I always find when storing things in old cases that I totally forget I have them. I'm also a bit dubious when it comes to beiges and tans on me but you are rocking that coat xxx

I have to stop reading your blog. I get severe pangs of coat-envy! (No I won't stop reading your blog, ever!)

The coat is a keeper!

Hate to admit I have a small bedroom and two more large full length closets downstairs to house all my clothing.

I love that coat and it reads more gold than beige/tan at least in the photos. I also love your vintage cases for storage. They are useful and gorgeous!

I agree with Sue, you need a whole room for storing, dressing and parading in!

I don't have as much stuff as most of the fabulous bloggers I read, but I live alone so all the available space is mine. At the moment I fill the entire closet in my bedroom and most of the hall coat closet. The next man in my life will have to be a minimalist.

Hope you are well over the cold!

God, that coat is wonderful, the shape is amazing and the colour is perfecto! It was probably the excitement of wearing it that kept you up so long after your bedtime. I copied you and stayed up late myself last night. Pretty impressive pair aren't we? You did some amazing shopping on your hols, those shoes are amazing and all that jewellery is fantastic. Your cases look great, i have one or two, which i also use for storage (under the bed), but generally it's just a wardrobe and chest of drawers. I think i need more clothes!!! Xxxxxxx

My clothes are everywhere! we have 3 bedrooms and my stuff is strewn over all three it's utterly shameful.

I had a coat just like that but it was maroon! I wore it daily and it fell apart- all the buttons popped off but I had gotten too fat to fit back into it anyway.

That coat is fabularse indeed! It's the little pouf on the shoulders and the sweet curviness (much like yours!) of the lapels, I think. Love the shoes and your amazing silver jewelry.

No worries about not linking up - I just appreciate the visit and comments are a bonus!

Fuck all that's a great coat and I am digging those shoes, too!

I am constantly struggling with my crap - especially the sewing crap! I just went and bought another book shelf to house such crap. WHY must I need so much stuff. Anyways, I am in LOVE with those shoes? Why couldn't I find them - I guess I would be angered when there were none in my size so perhaps its for the best! I love all the rings from all the places you have visited, maybe that's a thing I need to do. Oh Helga this weather is turning me into an ice block - we should go back to Indonesia!

Catherine said...

I love your coat too! Especially the popped up shoulders and the whopping collar! Great find!

That coat is the dog's wotsits, perfect fit and killer colour. Another pair of shoes to die for, I hear Indonesia calling me!!!
You look more gorgeous than ever, that holiday (or the staying out till 2am) have done you the world of good.
G's done a splendid job organising the boudoir - Jon would be snaffling those cases for boomboxes!
Love you! xxxxx

I dig your corduroy coat! And I've been trying to get rid of some of my splendid crap for a year, but it's so hard!

Krista Gassib said...

That coat with the collar and puffed up sleeves is MAGNIFICENT! I think you will show it a great time! Those shoes too, so cute!!!! You are looking mighty organized and what a great way to hide things away. I find that the more stuff I pack away the less I ever bother to wear them. So for me I have to keep my collection smaller and manageable always trying to cull it down. Moderation SUCKS!
You are beautiful!!!!!!
XXXOOO
LOVE YOU!

Your coat is fabulous, gorgeous! I love the fit, the collar everything! it's divine on you and I see it as gold, most queen-ly! your bag is freaking awesome btw! getting home at 2am would be outrageous for me too, I conk out around midnight - the mimosa is necessary - the suitcases are an excellent idea, my winter capes and coats are still hanging in my room gathering dust, am gonna find me a suitcase and pack them away! x x x

I agree with Beth, Molten Honey it is (and the bag too)! It does go just beautifully with your hair.

My splendid crap is all over the place which is causing me endless frustration, as I keep getting rid of stuff, but it doesn't seem to make a difference! I'm very fond of hat boxes; the shoes in the suitcases is a good idea.

You do have heaps of lovely stuff!
How do I manage all of mine? I shoved my hubby's crap to another room and took over both closets. I'm a horrible person!

wouuu, i love that sort of sedate beigey tan colour, it would be the one and only shade of beige I love!, and your trench has fabulous sleeves!!, love how the color appears also on your pretty shoes!!, matchy fabulousness!!
