Lately I'm beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel

It's a bit of a shock, coming back from balmy Indonesia to a Christchurch Winter.....and very Wintery it is indeed; G and I are both convinced that it's colder than last Winter.
Peepers agrees from the depths of our bed, where she has been acting as a furry hot water bottle.
(After she warms her cold paws on me, that is)
Still, it is nice to be dressed properly, and wear tights again.
I'm so addicted to overdressing that trying to dress lightly for the 40 odd degree heat and high humidity we were experiencing nearly killed me!
I took only 5 frocks with me.......that itself is a kind of hell.........and they had to be light and easily washable.
Walking back into my boudoir made me feel like a kid in a candy shop!

Coat-70's, Camberwell Markets
Frock-late 60's/early 70's-Trade Me
Shoes-Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Hat-a market

Spot my yellow toenails from my first ever pedicure!!!
I'm just not the girliest of girls, despite appearances!

Poor baby coming home to the cold weather!! But as you say you get to play in that fabulous wardrobe of yours and we get to see you in full FLASH!!! Glad you two had a great holiday, but very glad you are home.

Oh yes, all those lovely lovely layers with lime-green shoes. So comforting, with a warm Peepers. Your hair looks gorgeous worn down as well, another layer. Glad you made it home safety and were happy to be back.

I have never had a pedicure either! It's just not my thing - get away from my feet!

Aw, I love when the kitties snuggle up in cold weather - I know it's not me, it's my heat, but still. Welcome back home, even if it's not sunny and hot!

I've never had a pedicure or manicure either. I don't think I'd like it much. You do look rather satisfied dressed as your true self and even in full flasher mode! I love the white and green together and the green looks so amazing with your hair.
It's hard to come back to miserable weather but so sweet to have a furry bed heater.

Might we have a proper view of the 5 (only 5?!) frocks that made the cut and the trip? Including the front view of that gorgeous pink maxi?

Welcome back to the rude reality that is winter, dear Helga. Your lovely layers have been missed!

Yeah, flash me, baby! I bet it's a right shock to your system, coming back to cold temperatures after your holiday, but look how beautifully you are coping - layers, hats, faux fur, tights, and darling Peepers in your bed!
Love the frock, especially the polka dots and daisy trim, you look just gloriarse.
I have only had one pedicure. They didn't allow enough time for the nail varnish to dry fully, so when I had to put my shoes back on, it all got smudged. What a waste of time and money - never again!
So happy to have you back, love! xxxxx

Oh how I've missed you & your matchy matchy overdressing. I want to rip that green frock off you & wear it forever. Those shoes are divoon obviously! I'm so glad it's not just me who struggles dressing in the high heat & humidity. How I miss my polyester & cardigans in the summer time. I am much happier when I'm layered up. Xx

Yay! You're back! And yes it is bloody freezing! God I hate winter. For work I keep sending people off to Singapore and Malaysia and asking them to bring the warmth back with them but they never do! I love your sneaky yellow toes and your leopard skin coat! So magnificent! There's a dozen freezing hipster girls wishing they had such a fab cost right now!

I've only gone somewhere warm in the winter once, and I remember the shock of coming back from 25 degree temperatures to 0. I agree with you about dressing for the heat - I have much more fun getting dressed when it's colder and I can layer up. My summer outfits have been pretty boring (which may be why my hair is getting more colourful). Speaking of hair, I love it when you let your fiery locks loose!

It seems I never get a chance to swing by and see how fabulous you are lately, life seems to be a constant stretch of house moving. Anyway, it's good to see you looking as amazing as always. Xx

Add me to the list of people who prefer to dress for cool weather! Summer is to be survived with what dignity I can muster but winter is the glorious time of clothes, lots of clothes. Give me knits and layers and boots any day!

Your layered up look is great! The colors and textures have me pining for winter.

I love all the layers! Making me miss my tights and boots!

Oh your holiday!!! utter beauty and fabulous-ness, bliss and booze, it can't ever get better, and then a lovely person brings beers to the poolside, heavenly!!! it must be a shocker to go from hot heat to the blooming cold though, no wonder you are feeling it. You are wrapped in gorgeous faux and fabulous frocks though, you are creating your own foxy heat!! I had a pedicure once, and those fish that are meant to eat dead skin, what was bizarre is that they refused to go near my left odd x x x

Wa-hey - that holidays certainly put a delicious glint in your eye, you can flash me any time!!
Loving those apple green shoes and the killer frock and yes, isn't it wonderful to be overwhelmed with choice after weeks of wearing the same few frocks on repeat? It takes an absolute bastard massive age to get dressed!!
Love you! xxxxx

oh yes, it's shocking to come back from summery holidays to a bitterly cold weather!, but now you've recovered your wardrobe!! And you took only 5 frocks with you!!!! ohhhhh!!
Such a pretty pair of green shoes and cute dress and so fabulous coat, lovely leopardized!! gorgeous!
As previous commnentators, I've never had a pedicure nor manicure either!, And I'm a huge fan of layering and tights too!, love autumnal weather!

I've never had a pedicure for fear that a toenail might chose that moment to fall off in the hand of whatever poor soul was busy filing away. Sometimes they do that, mine anyway. Oversharing? Yeah. OK.

But look at that bag! (yeah, I'm still looking at it). Arrgh, I can't stand it anymore, I have to go on Etsy and find a hand tooled bag. Whatever I find wouldn't be that nice though-promise you'll hang onto that one forever because that is the spoiler of hand tooled bags. They don't get better.

I think part of the reason I never had style living in Southern California was it was too dam hot for much of anything! I think this dress is so very cute and I love your wild hair, I bet your dressing room missed you honey, I know I did!

Here we are in the 90's and all my cracks are sweating but the sun does feel gorgeous! Sending you warm vibes and snuggles! Tell G we said hello!
Love you

That perfect green! Love it! Glad that you enjoyed your trip. I am the same! It is hard for me to try and dress in Summer clothing as I usually layer things and most of my clothing is designed for the colder weather. I can just imagine how happy you felt walking back into your boudoir!

Well hello darling! Three weeks in Indonesia has obviously done you a power of good - you are looking absolutely ravishing! Oh so lovely to get back to your clothes and things, they are old and dear friends, and you are obviously feeling most inspired. I adore this outfit, such a cute dress and of course, the best coat in the universe. Love the thought of little peepers snuggled up in the depths of your bed. Bet she was delighted to see you back. 5 frocks? I'm impressed! xxxxxxx

I agree with you and G! This winter IS COLDER! I'm freezing my butt off. Love that shade of green on you! Oh and I think I need to take lessons from you and G on relaxing....I'm so terrible at it, gets to actually be a problem with stress levels and such!
