O, that I may imbibe from your lips the power of sleep tonight

Frock-made it myself with opshopped material years ago
Blouse-60's, opshopped
Coat-70's, a theatre sale
Shoes-Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Handbag-60's, opshopped
Earrings-Vintage Pip
Bow-made it myself
Sunglasses-from my darling Sue
Brooch-60's? From my sweetheart Curtise

There's going to be some lame arse outfit pix using my gorilla pod and self timer for a little bit, as........

.............my G Star has managed to rupture his left Achilles tendon, rendering him useless fairly immobile for a time!
He was thrilled to be able to choose his favourite colour for the cast, which he has to wear for two weeks. This is followed by six weeks in a moon boot-gagging to see that!!
Then it's some kind of shoe lifts.
The downside is that I have to do all the housework.
For feck's sake.
It's bad enough that I am not a terribly good nurse ( I am trying very hard though); let alone having to do the most loathed things in my universe.......please send loads of healing wishes to save me from the drudgery!

In other news, I made a pit stop at the Meditteranean Warehouse.......

....tried to make sense of the random books and magazines piling up about the house.......

......we had a little cocktail bash........

I wore:
Stole-no idea how old, a theatre sale
Earrings-from lovely Tamera
Beads-60's, opshopped
Silver sandals-opshopped
Headpiece-a piece of lace from a favourite friend, hot glued onto a clip

Naturally, there was a costume change into a square dance frock I recently got from Etsy....

...and some interpretive dance....(Malcolm is deliberately ignoring my skills; how rude....)

It's quite considerate that my frock goes with my tattoo!

We got a new couch and Peepers loves it....but she loves that blankie more....

I scored a spunky sifter!

We had some Winter sunshine...
I wore:
Frock-made it myself using a 70's sheet
Coat-60's, opshopped
Beret-Madame Butterflys, a local vintage shop
Sunglasses-Catch a Thief
Shoes-retail sale

The sweetest knitting bag in the world!

I also opshopped these splendid old lady shoes.....

I believe my patient needs an enema some medication of the liquid variety.
Please excuse me.

I want to see more of the new couch it looks wicked. God you look fab in green, well you look fab in every photo. Lovin the boobs on the G Mans cast. Moonboot you say, hope you find him a wee spaceman suit to go with it or at least buy him a packet of spaceman lollies!

Have I ever mentioned that you are the bees knees? The cat's whiskers? Oh the colours of you - those hose are too lovely! And SNAP! to the sifter - I have the same one, inherited (heirloom...hee hee!) from my mum!

Look fantastic.

Hope your G Star heals up soon! Looking good too, that green coat in the first outfit is too beautiful for words. Love the way you've worn it!

So much news to process here!

The flamingo earrings lift the first ensemble into a lofty realm! And berets are exactly the right topping for your Titian mane, worn loose!

As for G, haven't you a nurse's cape in your stash? The one with a big cross on the breast? I'm sure you'll devise some costumes to keep the patient from wasting from boredom...

(Seriously. Please consider massage therapy, soonest.)

I'm really really bad at being a nurse. Just ask my husband and son!
Love the outfits, and esp love G's painted nails!! You two are awesome.

Ha! Did G rupture his Achilles assisting with your interpretive dance? I am a very poor housekeeper, so hoping the drudgery fairy visits your house!

You look amazing in that green coat, and smokin' hot in your cocktail dress. So much sparkle! You inspire me so.

Aw, Peepers! Such a cutie-patootie.

Oh Poor G, hope he's better soon. Years ago, I worked at a liquor store where a fellow would wear a big moon boot whilst pan-handling for cash out front. When he'd made his daily haul, the boot came off, he came inside, and bought his bottle of whatever. He'd walk home carrying the boot then, he'd do it again the next day. So hang onto that boot after he recovers, it may turn out to still have use!

When I broke my arm I got comic books, and the shortwave radio to keep me busy. Don't imagine G would be too entertained by the Hulk and trying to tune-in Cuba.

The tartan bag is super-nice-it all is...and so are you. The green coat just screams for springtime.

My favourite is the interpretive dance shot, with a wee peep at the knickers! I love the orange paint in your room!!! Yes!!! G's choice? Give him my sympathies, but really more go to you for all the drudgery/house goddess work you now have to do:-(
Your sparkly bits in the cocktail party shot are deeelicioous. And I adore your leopard print tights!
Hope your patient responds quickly to your jabs /healing hand, and gets back to his proper place as your photographer...pronto! XO JJ

Orange and green are made to be seen! Love that combination. And G's cast matches, how cool! Poor man, you must be Nice Nursey (little does Beth know that you DO have a nurse's cape - I feel a photo shoot coming on, Nurse Helga! But not one that includes an enema, please, let poor G retain some dignity...)
Fabulous cocktail frockage, both of 'em, and the interpretive dancing is a joy to behold! Malcolm's just jealous of your art, darling.
Peepers! Couch! Sifter! Beret! Leopard print tights! Granny shoes!v Love love love! xxxx

Betty Furness! Forgive the double comment on this post, but I've just remembered The Style Icon of Housewives of the 50s: Betty Furness. Yes, Helga, there is a role model for performing those loathsome chores in high heels! Google Betty!

Bloody hell, poor G and even poorer you, i know you're as natural a nurse as I am and can only feel your frustration.
Your outfit is stupendous and G chose his cast wisely.
Tartan and leopard, the craziest and best combo ever!
Love you! xxxxxxx

Oh no, man down! Poor G, but oh my, poor you too...! Cleaning, cooking, caring. All the terrible C words. If I were closer I would come over and help. You to drown your sorrows. Poor Helga. Such a fine pair of boobs you drew for him too. I will quite happily look at any and all photos of you, regardless of gorillas or any other animals. In fact i might have to print out that picture of your interpretive dance routine with your knick knocks on show and put it on my wall. It is far and away the best and funniest thing I have ever seen! Love to you Naughty Nursey! Xxxxxxx

Oh my poor G star I wish I was there to help ya both! Just being your beautiful self is I'm sure so encouraging to him. I'm in love with all your frocks in this post, especially the two you made! The long jacket is so banging bright, it makes me think of the hope of spring in winter.
Hang in there gorgeous, you both. I hope one day to chill in that sexy lounge of yours and get good and drunk and dance my lil ass off with you all!
Lots of love sunshine!

Soooo much to love here!

- That green bow + bouffant! Were I eve to grow my hair out, I'd absolutely follow your lead.
- Theatre sale clothes! One simply finds the best pieces there.
- Costume changes halfway through a party. I'm certainly no stranger to that!

Cocktails are the only solution to housework drudgery and looking gorgeously splendid, which you did already! I am sending LOTS of healing wishes though, poor G star, a ruptured achilles tendon sounds hideously painful, luckily he has his sexy Helga nurse providing liquid medication - love everything you are wearing! love it all equally, the gorgeous green coat, cocktail dress, square dancing dress, your 70's fabric dress you made, love it all x x x

Ooh what a bummer for your dear man! Atleast you get to doodle as many rude things on his cast as you like! Haha fab outfits here, and you have inspired me to pair my new heeled clogs with tights, which I have done for two days in a row now!

You look scrumptious in all those prints and sparkles!

Best wishes for your beau. Imagine, being all laid up with a bung leg when there's so much excitement going on.

I'm not sure who I feel WORSE for - G Star having an injury or you for having to do all the housework. I feel your pain, I am horrible at housework (just as well I wasn't around in the 1950s and I'm sure my incompetence at house-wifery would have made me a failure at life!). But at least you have like a million amaze frocks to make up for it. Especially loving the new esty purchase - no one rocks a square dancing frock quite like you!

Forest City Fashionista said...

Oooh, poor G! And poor you, for having to take on all the housework! Like you, I do not possess the domestic goddess gene so I would be hoping for a superhuman-quick recovery for G.

His cast does coordinate very well with the rest of the house. I'm all agog at the patchwork sofa, and would like to see more please. You look so deliciously fancy-schmancy in your cocktail party garb and your interpretive dance moves are very inspiring ;)
