We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars

It was a little bit of gingham and sparkley ric rac for Friday's frocking up!
There are no words for how fabularse gingham is.
I just need a whole lot more of it in my life, dammit.

Frock-70's square dance, Etsy
Belt-70's tooled leather, opshopped
Jacket-70's, cropped by moi, opshopped
Handbag-70's tooled leather, gift from G a few birthdays back
Tights-retail
Shoes-Trade Me
Headpiece-gift from Amy
Necklaces-top one, Wasteland, San Francisco, bottom one, Kensington Markets, London, 1989

A little teensy bit of opshopping was done after work on Friday, the 70's plate will be our new nachos platter (broke the last one), an Agee Pyrex dish, some sweet little forks, little dishes for jewellery, plastic 60's beads, a 60's turquoise cardi and a modern white top making a nice little haul.

Thursday was G's birthday, so we took the afternoon off and carted his crippled ass on down to Mexicanos, a favourite bar of ours.
I had that whole jug of sparkling sangria to myself, plus a few blood orange margaritas!
Not sure what time we staggered out of there, but we enjoyed some delicious tacos as well as a lotta good drinkies!

The beautiful birthday boy!

I don't know what it is about the combination of booze and cripple toilets, but it always causes G and I to behave in a most unseemly manner....

Great design on the wall though!

Happy birthday, G!
That blue and the brown look absolutely fantastic all together.
Have a wonderful week, Helga.

What a fascinating combination of textures in brown you've assembled to encircle this pretty blue gingham dress! The necklaces were designed for each other, the cropped jacket has been customized for your *ahem* best features, Helga, the bag is strong yet feminine, and the shoes are exactly the proper base for your length of skirt, with tights. Brava!

Happy birthday wishes to G! Congratulations on seeing stars!

Happy birthday to lovely G firstly, he looks so pleased with himself for a birthday boy. Toilet shenanigans are always fun, especially if you are involved. Gingham will be on my hit list to find for you on TM and up here in our op shops now.

You're cracking me up with the bathroom shenanigans. Ah, gingham. It is indeed a lovely thing. And those shoes - swoon! Fabulous as always!

Happy Birthday, G.

My boys have been snapping photographs of interesting urinals for me-I don't know why. Maybe they think I've never seen one? Anyway, we have a photo series now.

Gingham is a wonderful fabric-makes me think of picnics and who doesn't love a picnic? Your custom-cropped jackets are great. I don't think I've seen this one before. You have a good eye for what will work. Your hair looks incredible down like that. Long hair is a pain, but just look at that mane of yours. Roar!

Looking gorgeous in gingham, my darling! Always a joy when you let those luscious locks down - but then I don't think either you or G need ANY encouragement to let your hair down, do you?! Love your expression in the photo with the jug of sangria, G looks delicious in his close-up, and then it's all downhill in the disabled loo, you naughty pair!
Nice little haul from the op shops - the pattern on that platter reminds me of Kathie Winkle's designs (great name!)
Love you, and a belated happy birthday to the G-Star! xxxx

I'm like Curtise and enjoy it when I open your post and see you've got your hair down. I love your unique style and sense of humour and photos of you and G out eating and drinking! So awesome. Happy Birthday G! That's a whole lotta sexy in the toilet.

Happy belated birthday to the G man! I'm thrilled to hear that he celebrated in style! Fan-fecking-tastic.
There are plenty of words to describe both of your outfits but they involve lots of explanations and gratuitous swearing as they are both drop dead wonderful.
Love you! xxxxx

It is a fact that square dancing dresses are one of the best inventions ever but you take it to a whole new level. So beautiful and worth breaking another nacho dish over! Happy Birthday celebration!!!!

I love the look on your face in that picture where you're holding your big jug of goodness ;) which you are NOT going to share!! Happy birthday to your lovely man. Oh what sauce in the toilet, you mischievous pair! Xxxxxxxx

Happy Birthday G I'm glad to hear and see that you both got good and liquored up! That whole pitcher, why I would have been spanking G and singing with you!
Your hair down brings out the Goddess every time and to have her dress in gingham is sublime! I have a weakness for it myself and always try it on. The leather bag makes me wanna trade Peetee, come on, want him :)
LOVE YOU!

Sending some Happy belated Birthday Wishes to G. It looks like his hobbled state has not affected his ability to enjoy some birthday nonsense.

You have become my personal queen of the Square Dancing Dresses - I've never seen anyone rock them like you do. It looks very natural for you to have a pitcher of sangria in your hand ;)
