Hand on heart, tic tac toe

We...well, G and a friend, really....I supervised...put a new roof over our deck, as the old one was filthy as hell and manky with years of dirt and leaves and polluted shite.
It's simply fabularse, all pristine and fresh, and it has UV protection.
Only it's so bright and hot that I have to retreat into the cool interior!
My recently planted basil seedlings love it, however, and are going nuts.
Pesto, anyone?!

So far, our Spring has been patchy, as far as warmth goes, so gawd knows what it will be like out there when it's full Summer!
Still, mustn't complain!

Frock-made it myself
Jacket-70's, opshopped and altered by moi
Shoes-Trade Me
Handbag-rather old, I am thinking 30's/40's, from Camberwell Market in Melbourne
Flower-Ubud, Indonesia
Sunglasses-60's, from my beloved sistercousinwifey
Necklace-60's, from sweetheart Tamera
Earrings-from the sweetest Squirrel
Brooch-"thrifted" in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. It's a Sarah Coventry. Score! Cost me a whole 50 cents, I think.

Another gorgeous frock made by you!! I love the smell of Basil, and yes please to some Pesto, do you deliver or do I have to come and collect?? Cannot wait for this weather to settle down and stay warm.

More you-made clothing? You should open a shop! Lovely colours in your outfit too. I can almost smell the basil from here!

That looks like a proper little sun trap. My basil always dies, I need a covered deck, too.
Love those pretty pots, the yellow wall and the divine Helga-made frock. Your altered jackets are a work of genius and the bag makes my heart skip a beat.
Americans go mental over Sarah Coventry, they're a fortune on Etsy!
Love you. xxxxxxx

Wonderful ensemble! So many great details to look at.

I envy that you are going into summer. Winter's doom is headed our way and it makes me depressed.

Fantastic sun deck!! I'm missing the warmth already with winter coming here. You look gorgeous!!

Thanks for the reminder that soon I get to be warm and live vicariously through your summer! The deck looks killer and I know how hard they are to keep nice, ours gets covered in moss and slime every year gets super slippery. You look autumnly fab in your creation, I can't image making that!

These excellent photos enable one to appreciate your expert blending of colors and textures, Helga! The tortoiseshell sunnies pick up the pattern of the bag, while the crystalline orange beads reflect the almost-a-hat flower hair ornament. Do like how you pair pops of color and geometrics with the sweet floral fabric of the frock!

Enjoy the basil fragrance for those of us in the other hemisphere. All that remains in my herb patch is a tough weedy mint.

Ahh, that gorgeous sunshine! It look very warm and bright, could do with a bit of that over here... Well done to G for being a Manly DIY King, and well done to you for supervising so brilliantly (I'm sure you did!) You look bright and sunny yourself, such lovely colours, and that big old bag has me drooling!
Love you! xxxx

Helga, I can smell the basil!
So envious as we are getting snow tomorrow. You are a colorful pop of sunny spring, yes you are!

Oh look, sun! It made an appearance here today for a nanosecond and then retreated behind a big grey mass....not to be seen again till April no doubt, ha.
Love that shade of lippy, so perfect with the beads and tights etc, you are the matchy queen, after all.
Fabularse bag. x

What does Dr. Helga have in her doctor's bag? If I bend over, will you show me?

Another beautifully sewn dress. I envy your skills-sewing is HARD!

I hope your basil is happy, and produces tonnes of leaves for you.

Gorgeous you...I love you in a bit of orange. We're getting a pergola up right as I speak now. Looking forward to having an extra room that I can deck out vintage garden style. Xx

Yum, pesto! It is so much fun to get a little vicarious spring sunshine when I read your blog posts. The colors and textures on your porch are just glorious. That dr bag is amazing! It looks like you could fit just about anything in there!

Do send some of that Basil over here, will you? It probably will have turned into Pesto by the time it got here ;)

Every good job needs a supervisor, especially one as well-dressed as you. We are charging ahead into winter over here, so enjoy your Spring.
