Fires outside in the sky look as perfect as cats

I recently took G on a surprise date night!
We had dinner at a fairly nw restaurant in town, then went to see J. Mascis, of whom G is a long time fan.
I'm good at keeping secrets, but never imagined I would get away with this surprise, I totally thought he would guess! Turned out he knew Mascis was touring, but thought it was last week and he'd missed it. His little face was a treat.

Naturallt, the venue was a sea of black, and everyone was way underdressed, so I stuck out like dogs balls!
Frock-70's, ophopped
Coat-late 60's/early 70's, opshopped
Cocktail hat-Madame Butterflys
Sunglasses-50's, fro the lovely Sue
Boots-Trade Me
Handbag-a Rex, gift from G
Necklaces-60's, opshopped, and 70's, opshopped
Earrings-from the sweetest Squirrel

G has had a break through with his leg recovery and is feeling THIS good!
(I made his pants many, many years ago, and the PVC is finally coming to the end of its life)

G's great stride forward in healing is an excellent cause for celebration, Helga, and this splendidly regal red ensemble is worthy of the special occasion. It's great fun to envision your bird-of-paradise entrance among an audience composed of crows...

Isn't that the best when you get away with a surprise?

G's trousers are the best-est. What will you make to replace them now that they're wearing out? You MUST show us the completed project.

Daaaaaammmm, you look great. Nothing wrong with standing out when you look like that!

You look gorgeous and regal - and I'm pretty sure that you would stand out in a crowd even if you were also in all black.
G looks so cool in his silver pants!

Dogs balls. Really? It is all the drabsters that are at the poopy end of the dog. You are magnificent in red. And whoop whoop to a shiny working leg.

Bless his heart, he IS feeling good. And you are LOOKING good. It is such a rare treat to see you in a maxi dress, and you look just beautiful. What a sweet gesture to take your man out to see his favourite band. No wonder you two are such love birds. That's what keeps romance alive. I just said to Q when we were eating dinner just now, we have all our different likes and hobbies but our evening meal is when we come together and we love it. I'd love to have seen his face when he saw you in this outfit. Xxxxxxx

Ooh, I always like it when I know one of your titles - Lovecats by The Cure!

You look stunning and perfect in your red - I had one of those stand-out experiences last night in my giant boots. Love G's shiny pants! Congrats on sneaking that surprise on him!

"[E]veryone was way underdressed." Story. Of. My. Life. I used to hope our world's increasing slobbiness was all in my head, but I recently read a fashion history book that confirmed it: yes, people are more casual now than they ever have been. Booo! Up to us to keep it alive. You are an absolute queen in this outfit.

G does look like he's ready to rock and roll again (nice silver trousers!). Bravo to you for pulling off a surprise date! I'm sure that you did stick out like "a dog's balls" but in the most magnificent way possible. You look spectacular dahling, from your feather-topped head to your red platform-shod feet.

You look regal and resplendent and most definitely fiery! G looks like a splash of cool water ready to put out the flames. What a great surprise for him and so clever of you to pull it off. An underdressed black clad mass of people is such a yawn! Nobody dresses up for anything anymore it seems, at least not in a small town. xo

It may have been a sea of black but i'm sure everyone was wondering "who is this radiant red queen with that hat and that coat! Surely she is some kind of music industry goddess?!?!"

Good to see G in on the mend and attempting yoga on a wobbly rocky unstable leg injuring ground! :p
