So far removed from all that we went through....

I scored a tripod at a Canberra opshop at our last Helgastock, and I finally took myself out for a spin to try it out-it's pretty bloody awesome! I'd been making do with a mangy gorilla pod, which just wasn't quite cutting it. As I can't rely on having my personal photographer around whenever I am looking exceptionally splendid, a gal has to make do somehow, and this tripod makes it a lot easier. All I need now is a flash camera with a clicky thingy and I'll be ever so clever-pants, but I do actually have better things to spend my dollars on.
This 40's frock is too big and has been somewhat butchered in its past, but for a fiver at a theatre sale a few years back, who fecking cares?! I'd quite forgotten about it, but was feeling an urge for black and found it when rummaging through the small black section of my wardrobe. With a cropped 70s jacket, 30s bag and other modern odds and sods, I suspect my black urge has been satisfied for another year, especially now Spring is looking like springing upon us at any second!

Wow, your outfit is incredible. You are a vision en rouge. Who ever said that redheads can't wear red was talking from their bum. Love the tartan tights. Xx

That first pix of your posterior aspect is a gem of time traveling in style! The Bennett sisters were never more elegant; however, they lacked your access to plaid ?! tights. Sleek, chic and very charming!

tripods rock. My personal photographer can't figure out what button to push, so I love my tripod. Spring? I'm looking forward to autumn. Getting really tired of 90+temps (30c)

Classy....Melbournites live in black every season of the year but like you I only wear it about once. You do look very sexy though in those heels and tights!

My goodness you look like a mysterious, French spy. And yes, you look especially SPLENDID!

Gah! I hope your Spring is more spingy than our Thunder Bay spring (gale force rain and all). Luckily we've recently had some gloriarse sunny weather which has me reaching for my floaty skirts.

happy thrifting ;)

You are brave using your tripod to take photies of yourself on a public highway. I always feel a bit of a tit or that people will think I'm up myself....I shouldn't care, I know. Sounds like we will be seeing more of your divoon self soon. Btw, the clicky thing isn't too expensive. xxx

The first thing I thought of when I saw these photos was Charlotte Gray. Have you seen it? It's Cate Blanchett in the most wonderful 1940s outfits. You suit this vibe so well. Your silhouette is just perfect. That first pic from behind is just classic with that red and black and your legs which go on forever and your beret and side hair. Now that winter's nearly over, do you feel like going out more? You're certainly a welcome sight! Xxxxxx

You are seriously your own best photographer, stylist, model and all around amazing person. I love that you are rocking the Victorian School girl look. Cannot wait to see what you have waiting in the wings for spring.

Wow. You give me so much inspiration on how to work with a tripod. I love your framing, your moves, not to mention the fact you look gobstoppingly awesome. The first photo, I could imagine you in Paris or Memphis, woman of mystery. Your black urge has been well spent!

Tres stylish and dead sexy! Looking sleek and fabularse in that slinky skirt and spiky heels. Princess Tan's right, you look marvellously Charlotte Grey in that beret.
I bought a tripod from a chazza but haven't figured out the self timer on the camera so its just gathering dust in the cupboard of doom.
Love you! xxx

I think I'm doing it wrong-I bought a tripod and make the family use it to take my photos. Like I'm going to spend five minutes figuring out a timer.

Black can be a nice change, can't it? If you were looking to satisfy an urge, you did it in high style...and those tights are great.

Hope Spring treats you well.
